I am preparing to run Curse of Strahd, though I played in the later half with a different group.
With the group I played with, Strahd's brother was restored to life and told that he was now the rightful ruler of Barovia. This, ironically, is not a possible ending that is covered within the adventure.
I am curious what your groups did, and how you would have handled the above situation.
My group just finished playing Curse of Strahd. They also managed to bring Sergei back to life. They did not kill Strahd, but managed to get him banished to the Abyss for 101 years. They also turned over rulership to Sergei.
They next want to try and return Barovia back to the Prime Material plane. They plan to return to the Amber Temple to do more research, then we'll see from there. They are going up against the Dark Powers after all.
