A simple reason could be the Satyr went there to make money and become some degree of "famous". Tales and songs of a far off land, told by something the people there might not normally see. I mean think if Satyrs suddenly existed in the real world... how many people would pay to go to see one perform?
Edit for clarity on Lore: This isn't money and fame for the sake of money and fame, but merely a means for the revelry to continue without the need to rely on others for food and lodging. The performances by the Satyr are simply large parties that the money and fame would permit without question.
Why...whyyyyyyy would a Satyr Bard be in Icewindale for the last year or so?
(One of my players is desperate to play one in Rime because their "cute" but too new to know much of the lore. )
