I'm having a bit of a problem, I have a player who wants to create a fairy using a character generator. The only problem is, there are no fey-folk,pixie, sprite, or fairy selections in any of the races, the closest we can find is an elf, but they are not of "tiny" size. She is wanting to build a "tiny" fairy that can transform to normal size as a human. What other race that I may find in a generator could I use to create one for her. She is a new player and doesn't know all that much about creating characters, and even I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
There is no official race in D&D 5e that is below a size small.
You may be looking at the option of homebrewing content for your player, if you are comfortable with that. There may also be existing homebrew races on DDB that suit you, though remember that these are created by the community and may or may not be balanced.
Otherwise I might recommend trying to steer her to something that is official for the sake of making her first time playing as balanced as possible.
What about a fairy that got caught doing some mischief that greatly displeased her Queen? The punishment 5 years(for example) as a, forest gnome, or elf of some sort. This gives the intriguing prospect of being fey but affords you the time to develop any details you need.
Well for one thing, she is the Queen. And I kinda had to homebrew it a littel by using an ELF race. Only way I could figure out to do it. I'm going to present it to her and see how she likes it.
You're right about needing to Homebrew it(always makes me think of just throwing a bunch of random stuff into a pot and stirring) but fortunately, you can take from the pixie in the Monster Manual. I would advise using the Dark Elf race as a sort of template due to how their Drow Magic ability works. They will also get racial bonuses to Dex and Cha, but have a severe penelty to Str. I know most races only give bonuses to traits, but you can't expect a pixie to have strength higher than a 4, and that's the high end. So I'd say you're probably looking at something like this:
Pixie; Ability Score Increase: Dex +6, Cha +2; Ability Score Decrease: Str -8, Con -4; Fey Resistance: grants advantage on saving throws vs spells and other magical effects.; Pixie Magic: You know the cantrips 'druidcraft' and 'dancing lights'. At 3rd level, you can cast 'faerie fire' once with this trait and regain the ability to do so after a long rest. At 5th level, you can cast 'sleep' once with this trait and regain the ability to do so after a long rest.; Tiny: Your size is tiny and you can hide easier than other races. You have advantage on all Dexterity(stealth) checks. Languages: You can speak, read and write Sylvan. Wings: You have a flight speed of 30 ft.; Speed: Your base walking speed is 10.
I know that this is really rough and desperately needs to be ballanced out, but that's what I came up with in 20 minutes. I hope it helps.

Jesus Saves!... Everyone else takes damage.
