As the title says it all, I'm putting together a game for some friends, who are more experienced than me, and they're all 7th level, the party consists of an Aasimar Oath of Vengeance Paladin (with a level in warlock hexblade), Hill Dwarf Life Domain Cleric, a Minotaur Barbarian Berserker, and a Devil's Tongue Tiefling Bard College of Trickery (homebrew subclass that allowed). The story and world is of my own creation, where they've been hired to help discover the lost treasure of the most famous adventure of all time, and I have some ideas as to what they need to do gather clues and find the treasures location, but I'm not sure about how to balance out the encounters they need to face. Ideally I want them to feel that they have a sense of urgency because there's a mysterious group also searching for the treasure. Part of me thinks they'll face a combination of random monsters, and hired goons. Any suggestions?
