I am writing my own setting, and as I do this, I want to run my players through some short "historical" campaigns, which I will then use to flesh out some of the history of the setting I am making. This is also to give my players a bit more of a stake in this setting and give them a sense of being a part of the creation of it.
The first of these mini "historical" campaigns I would be to have the players assume the roles of some of the first human "pathfinders"/"wayfinders" arriving at the shores of the main continent, and helping explore these new lands and find places for their settlements to start, and the humans' first steps in interacting with the native races of these lands. (in this setting, the humans are one of the most primitive races, but they are excellent sailors/raiders).
would anyone have any suggestions on what sort of stuff I should keep in mind when writing this "settle a new land" type campaign? Any suggestions or resources you could think of?
Cheers and thank you for your time. :)
