The other day I was watching Aquaman with my GF and some of our friends and I mentioned how it would be good for an Underwater Campaign. Well since it was my idea I got volunteered to be the DM. Thing is while I can and have been the DM I am normally a player, so I am not the normal one to come up with all the details, and is what I need help with.
I plan on placing the game in Myth Nantar in the Sea of Falling stars but I can move it any place and keep the same basic idea where ever I need to go. I have already told people they need to play a good aligned race that has a swim speed and can breath underwater. For some of my ideas I have been looking at Sahugain, Merrow, Pirates from the surface and random aquatic versions of stuff like goblins. So any help just to get the creative process going would be appreciated.
As it happens, Saltmarsh (the book available for preorder ATM) I think will have additional content (rules, vehicles, monsters (all assumed)) focused on the sea. Mostly at the surface, but some below.
Remember it is a three dimensional environment. Someone, it might have been C. S. Lewis in one of the Narnia books, posited that life under the ocean would tend to concentrate in the shallower waters and on the tops of the sea mounts, the dark depths being the home of the dangers of the deeps.
