My players have decided that I was to DM a campaign where they vie for control over the city of Waterdeep. No need to re-read, you heard it right. Waterdeep. I've given them a bunch of government information and they're ready, but I need more information about the City of Splendors. I have Waterdeep: Dragon Heist and the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, but I'm afraid it won't be enough. Does anyone have any extra Waterdeep information? (Preferably 5e, but all editions accepted) Thanks!
If they want to do this, you might want to wait for the Acquisitions Incorporated book comes out, if they're willing. Omni Dran is one of the Lords of Waterdeep and AI are things they would have to deal with. Not to mention that the stuff in it seems like it would probably fit your group dynamic.

it's been a long time...
The Forgotten Realms wiki is pretty comprehensive. There are also a few novels, but you can just fill out any missing info with made up.
"What do you mean I get disadvantage on persuasion?"
I don't know, Sneet, maybe because your argument is "Submit and become our pet"?
