I have this game and i dont know what kind of campaign it is. Its a longterm game, and it has a story. I make each story like a arc, a season, and when that story ends i make a new story which carries over the characters from the last game. The story is homebrewed, i made it. Every character has a story which effects the world, such as a player may have explored a dungeon the group goes to. I make the world open so that they can entract with npc, their past, downtime, etc. But there is still the presence of a over arching story, like an invading army or nation suffering famine. The players absents or being idol will effect the put come of the story. I focus on running the present story first then afterwards i make another story, but i make foreshadowing to future adventures, such as a horrible monster or the return of a lich. What kind of campagin is this?

A homebrew campaign.
What kind of answer are you hoping for?
That was my reactions as well: it's sounds like a regular and very well designed homebrew campaign.
Not really sure if anyone has a classification scheme for campaigns. Can't tell you this a Type IV-C Recursive Narrative campaign or anything.
