So one of my players is considering becoming a lich in a sense. Basically he's going to continually cast clone on himself forever, essentially making him immortal. Would a God of Death like the raven queen seek out this character and try to correct this?
I have a character I want to play that has a similar desire. She seeks a way to extend her natural lifespan but doesn't want to lose herself or her soul (for example. become a vampire or a servant of Orcus), so I have been thinking similar dilemmas.
One of Raven Queens "missions" is to see that everyone passes on from this world at a proper time. This kind of cheating would eventually arouse her notice, but not personally nor immediately he starts doing this, especially if he's otherwise a good-aligned character. Maybe after two or three clones, she sends an agent, like a cleric or a paladin, to try to steer him to a right path. If he doesn't listen, they may use force and try to destroy his little cloning-project, to make sure his soul has no other option than to pass on to the afterlife. Or maybe the Queen just sends her most powerful agents to destroy him outright and the character needs to muster his allies to do battle against both the Raven Queen and his army of warlocks, clerics and other servants

The raven queen, as a neutral deity, wouldn't care if he was good aligned. Other than that, I agree with everything you said.
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Death is quiet. Death is patient. Death is inevitable.
You can delay it for a little while. Maybe even a long while. But Death will always come for you.
Kurgan commands it.
