So an interesting turn of events occurred during last night's game. The party took on a Hill Giant encampment in a side quest, because why not? So long story short, the last giant standing was the crazed and unpredictable Mouth of Grolantor and the party spent rounds corralling him into a safe position, casting Charm effects, Tongues to be able to talk to it, persuasion checks to calm it down & figure out its back story (slow witted, mistreated, starving), and finally succumbed to the mighty Geas spell (I suspended traditional combat rounds after it became clear no more fighting would occur & this interesting turn of events became more obvious and fun to explore).
So the Party's next stop was to land in port to advance the story line. They arranged to pay a skeptical longshoreman laborer to keep the Mouth happy, fed, and employed as a laborer on the Docks. For obvious reasons, the Mouth (who was too dimwitted to remember his own original giant name) was given the affectionate name of Lenny by the players. Lenny is slow, dim-witted, but cheerful, and very happy to finally have friends.
Now this is one of those obviously unexpected developments driven by character actions and decisions, which is great because as a DM I love these kinds of surprises.
I think, for very, very obvious reasons, attempting to just dump Lenny off at the docks with a caretaker (who doesn't speak Giant) and think nothing bad will happen is incredibly shortsighted.
Any suggestions out there for what kind of havoc, mayhem, trouble, accidents, etc. that Lenny will no doubt cause on the docks over the next few days? (Nothing too destructive, nothing lethal, just incidents the party will have to figure out how to fix one way or the other).
Broken crates, perhaps some love cargo (think livestock) eaten before anyone could stop him, maybe he scared off one of the harbors best customers when trying to be overly friendly and the customer saw it as aggression.
Going by the book... someone picks on him and ends up hurt. He takes a shine to someone else and ends up scaring them badly, maybe causing significant property damage as he chases them when they run (because he just wants to make sure they're still friends and doesn't understand that they're scared). He tries to pet a work horse and ends up killing it, enraging the owner. He starts collecting animals for his ambition of owning a farm, not understanding the concept of ownership.
He thinks the cargo-loading system is too slow, and starts simply throwing crates aboard the ship.
He can't swim, and falls in the water a lot.
A crew of giant-hating dwarves is so surprised to find him there that they attack, and there is a huge standoff in the middle of the port, with the dwarves hiding behind a bunker of cargo crates shooting slings and arrows, and the giant thrpwing cargo cratesm livestock, small boats, the harbormaster, and other handy nissiles over their defenses.
A very valuable elephant is being shipped from one zoo to another...the elephant and Lenny meet and it is love at first sight. The elephant refuses to leave Lenny, and Lenny refuses to give up the elephant, who he has named George.

Thank in advance for any remarks.
