So, my LMOP campaign went on hiatus for a while, but is now back up and running.
Thing is, the premade characters have all sorts of flavor that have no back up for the DM. The wizard in particular wants to go to the temple of Omagh in Neverwinter and conscript the help of the priests there. Not a word is mentioned about Neverwinter in the LMOP book, except insofar as how other places relate to it. Now, I could make it all up of course, but I bought a premade adventure to try to avoid too much homebrewing (I don't know how you homebrew DMs do it - much respect).
Are there any good pre-created Neverwinter resources out there? I've found the 4th edition Neverwinter guide, but it's stupid expensive on Amazon and I've read it's a very different place between 4th and 5th editions. I've also found the sword coast adventurers guide, which looks good, if a little broad and high level.
I've discouraged them from visiting Neverwinter thus far, but they'll be at the end of LMOP soon and I'd like to allow them some downtime there before their next adventure, and to allow its use as another hub in addition to Phandelver.
You're better off with that option than trying to buy it from Amazon. The Amazon one will be the actual publication print run, rather than an ex post facto POD, so it's considered a "collectible." The POD is just a reprint so you're just paying the cost of printing and shipping.
I have had excellent success with AD&D and one 4e POD (along with some other stuff like Ironsworn) from DTRPG... But I would definitely get the PDF + POD deal if you want the printed version... their POD is very slow due to the pandemic, so you might have to wait 2-3 months (depending on where you live, or more) for the print version. PDF will be available instantly.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.

Just be aware that it was written for the year 1479, so it's been about 10-15 years since then. The rift in Neverdeath, for example, has been closed up. But it includes a lot of information about the region.
The book itself was released as a tie-in to the Neverwinter MMO, so keep that in mind as well.

Sword's Coast Adventurers Guide has a fair bit about Neverwinter in it.
If your party want to explore all over the Sword Coast than Storm King's Thunder provides a huge map of the Sword Coast to explore.
You can get the Neverwinter Campaign Setting for 4e for $14.99 as a PDF from DriveThroughRPG:
https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/163174/Neverwinter-Campaign-Setting-4e
Softcover POD + PDF = $24.99.

Yeah, DMSGuild has this at the same price.
DM Guild and DriveThroughRPG are the same company -- it's the same POD.

Really, did not know that. thanks.
Anything you buy from either place is available in the same library... so yeah, same company.

Thanks all. I shall pick up both resources, and see what I can put together for the party.
