As it says in the title, I run an afterschool DND club geared towards ages 12-25 at a local LGBT youth and family resource center. We've had a lot of success so I'd like to publish some examples of how I've been doing it. Others can take a look and adapt it to their own needs and preferences.
You'll note that there's almost no mention of LGBT things in the rest of this post. Turns out running a DND afterschool program for LGBT youth is basically the same as running a DND afterschool program for general youth. Hmm. I wonder if there's a metaphor there. ;)
The main content I would publish in this document would be along the following lines:
The code of conduct we use
Episodic adventure structure: everyone belongs to the same professional adventuring company, and each session is its own job. No-stress, no commitment.
How we simplified character creation so inexperienced players can jump right in
10 or so example jobs and the relevant stat blocks, maps, etc.
The guidelines I use for creating new jobs
A logic model (social program professional lingo for "Detailed document of why we do all these things the way we do.")
Company positions we use so everyone contributes to cleaning up, running the game, etc.
A variety of useful documents and stuff (Job Briefs, New Employee Applications, Company Positions, alternatives to dice so players don't have to buy them, etc.)
You might be able to smell the Acquisitions Incorporated wafting off of this idea. :) It was definitely inspired by Acq Inc, but as it developed more and more I realized that most of what they have in common is just that its a professional adventuring company! I'd say it's more like the popular manga/anime Fairy Tale than Acq Inc.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think there's a niche for that on DMsGuild? What else do you think I should consider when publishing it? I'd like to come up with new titles for the content that was inspired by Acq Inc but still shares the name with the original (e.g. "Company Positions," although the company positions in Acq Inc deal primarily with in-game experiences, while my company positions deal primiarly with out of game things (one person who takes the lead when everyone needs to make a decision, one person who leads the group in cleaning up at the end of the day, etc.)
EDIT: Oh, and I'd like to sell it either for a set price or a Pay What You Want system. I've spent some money out of my pocket for the materials for this club and wouldn't mind having some of that recompensated. :)
