I am looking to give my campaigns Monk a rare magic item that is; not a weapon or armor, non attunement, and mostly not combat related. I have been looking at official magic items and I have not been captured any of them as much as I would have hoped.
I am hoping to get others opinions/reasons for certain non-attunement rare magic items, or at the very least some homebrew item ideas.
TLDR; Looking for a non-attunment, rare, wondrous item for a Monk.
Once when I was playing a monk my DM gave me two immovable rods. They were a fun utility item to use, but not necessarily something "monk specific" if thats what youre looking for. An easy way to make them monk specific is maybe allow the character to use them as monk weapons (like clubs or nightsticks) or even put a small chain between them, making them immovable nunchucks. Their effect really wouldnt make the weapon any stronger than another monk weapon, but is a fun reflavoring to fit the character.

Id's say something that augments their already high movement abilities, such as these boots, or slippers of spider climbing.
The monk already has the boots of speed unfortunately, and I don't want to double up on boots.
