I recently started a campaign with some friends, but one of them is constantly bickering and picking fights with another. He also likes to do a lot and not give others a chance to speak up.
What are some ways you all either fix this or use this against them?
I think you need to address out of character problems out of character. Start by talking to the guy, politely calling him out and asking him to stop. If he doesn't, then yeah, it's hard to boot people, but it'll be better in the long run.
And to counteract him kind of hogging the scene, you can basically make sure to ask the other players "ok, while he's doing that, what are YOU doing?" And if the guy interrupts, "hang on - you're still doing that thing."
Do you know how hard it is to get a matched set of dueling pistols?!
It's much easier to get them if you convince the DM that you're trying to have a duel. If you're after a pair of dueling pistols, stage a fight with another character, challenge them to a duel, get the pistols, make up with the character before the duel.

I would totally vote against that.
