unfortunately I don't have the book the Nereid comes from, but if an effect doesn't explicitly state that something ends, it doesn't end. Compare with the imp's Invisibility or the pixie's Superior Invisibility.
The nereid's invisibility lasts "until it leaves the water, ends the invisibility as a bonus action, or dies", like the statblock says.
The invisible condition ending on attacking is just a property of the invisibility spell. Most other ways of going invisible don't have that particular ending condition.
Aquatic Invisibility. If immersed in water, the nereid can make itself invisible as a bonus action. It remains invisible until it leaves the water, ends the invisibility as a bonus action, or dies.
Thank you everyone. I was asking because I don’t want to make them overpowered by mistake. I thought that their invisibility worked that way but I wanted a second opinion.
Does a Nereid’s invisibility go away when she attacks the way the Invisibility does? Or only when she leaves the water or voluntarily dismisses it?

I would say no.
