Hey, I don't know if this is the place to ask this but here I go anyway. Is Obsidian Portal worth paying for? Now keep in mind I am terrible with tech. I've used OP in the past & kinda understand it, but its been a while. I tried to use World Anvil but couldn't make heads or tails of it. Anyway, any help would be nice. ty
I experimented with Chronica for awhile. It's generally good. I recently migrated to World Anvil, however. It's got a bit of learning curve, but it's pretty powerful.

Yeah I am just not too tech savvy nor do I have a lot of money. The thing about world anvil is it seems more elaborate than I need. I ain't smart enough to warrant all what it can do, I wish I was. Like the joke goes "If I knew the difference between Antidote & Anecdote my friend would still be alive." Ty for the responses I will look into Chronica, Thank You
I have never been a fan of sub platforms. I wish that there were more good free options or one time purchase options. I just manage everything on my side. Personally I feel there is more work involved but it pays off in the end.
I paid for OP and so far I really like it. I'm migrating all of my stuff over from OneNote and I really like it so far. Features that I like: Having a "DM Only" space I can put my stuff there and put everything else in the section that is viewable by all (including links, etc). Having a "DM + PC" space that is just between me and the PC. If I am working on a story element that will eventually be revealed to a PC during downtime, I can craft in OP and when it comes time to reveal it to to the PC I can just add them and it becomes visible to them. This replaces the "table whispers" that Matt Mercer uses on Critical Role and it means that I don't have to get out my phone and text, etc. The game calendar that allows me to invite the PCs to the game and they can then subscribe to the calendar on their devices and it eliminates the text threads.
Things I don't like: Image links/attachments force things into a square aspect ratio - it makes it impossible to use the platform to share maps because they get distorted.

My group used to use it. The DM paid, so I can’t say about cost. I do know he said they had made lots of promises about updates that never came.
We’ve been using chronically ventures. Just started. Seems good.
