Hey all you DM's. I'm a first time DM going through DoIP and I love to add music to my game to my game. I feel it makes so much difference to the mood being set and want to continue with it but it brings me to my question for you. What is the music that moves you? Preferably either with no words or if there are, undistacting. So what are your favorites that make you feel happy, sad, scared or inspired? Movies, tv, animation of any sorts. It's all possible! What music gets YOUR imagination going? Thank you all in advance!
After Avernus, at least one of my parties is going onto a odyssey inspired by the Protomen's album "The Cover Up".
More seriously, King Crimson works its way into a lot of my games ("Epitaph" is important to some NPCs and a faction affiliated with one of the groups). There's a lesser known band Espers, whose "Flaming Telepaths" album fits into more traditional D&D stylings, including their cover of BoC's "Flaming Telepaths". So I guess you could say tonally a lot of my game leans heavy on a broad conception of psych rock (itself having some crossover with Moorcock). Audioslave mostly but a lot of stuff Chris Cornell was involved in makes it into the game.
Into the Spiderverse has had a big impact on how some of the players view heroism. "Start a Riot" and "What Up Danger" have been used in combat and stealthy/discovery encounters respectively.
