Hi All,
I may be overthinking this but the spell Arms of Hadar, when a target fails its saving throw it cannot take reactions until its next turn.
Am I correct in understanding that the target cannot use the special action called a "reaction" as defined on page 190 of PHB?
Or is it something else?
Thank you in advance.
That is indeed the reaction. So no attacks of opportunity or other special reactions like a parry for defensive duelist for instance or using a spell like hellish rebuke or shield.
Many Thanks. Counterspell come to mind too.
But the target can still make normal attackes - melle, ranged or spell, just not using their reaction action?
Sorry for the overthought.
That’s correct, they can still take non-reaction actions on their turn.
Thank you also!
