Running a homebrew campaign and I've figured out how to get great magic item rewards to the Bard and Barbarian in the party, but the sorcerer is feeling a bit left out. Any suggestions for a magic item perfect for a level 6/7 sorcerer that would make them feel loved?
Staff of Defense is good, there are a lot of wands that are nice, scrolls are good. Basically anything that lets them conserve their own spell slots or increases their AC.
Without knowing more about the campaign, stronger advice is difficult.
First time hyperlinking, please forgive any errors.
One of the pain-points of being a Sorcerer is that while you can cast spells a lot, you must limit yourself to a fairly narrow list of spells at any given time. Anything that allows them to cast spells they don't currently know is a huge win for them. Wands and Scrolls allow for this, as do a handful of Magic Items with some spell built into them. I'd also recommend tossing a Ring of Spell Storing or similar their way. They cast a spell into it, say before taking a Long Rest, and now that they have refilled all their spell slots from the Rest, they still have that leftover spell stored in the Ring to use whenever.
Sorcerers tend to be flashy characters since their spellcasting ability is charisma. Characters like that love glamorous clothing. Magical glamorous clothing is even better. They’re not so different from bards in that way. Cloaks, robes and capes do anything from giving swim speeds to dimension door, to casting magic missiles while granting +1 to saving throws. Boots and slippers can do anything from keeping them from feeling the effects of harsh cold to letting them climb like a spider. There are bowls and gems that let you summon and control elementals. Basically, just look through the Wondrous Items category of magic items. That’s where you’ll find good stuff for a sorcerer.

That's a good idea, thanks!

Bracers of defense, ring/cloak of protection, ring of spell storing are all good choices.
