Hello! (this is going to be a long post, sorry in advance 😅) So, a while back I was inspired to create a really indepth campaign for my players (10 of them), but we ended up not playing as we never had time. It was probably for the best because I completely underestimate the amount of time creating a campaign from scratch would take. However, I still think the worldbuilding I have is cool and it'd be a shame to let it go to waste. So here it is, hopefully someone out there can use it/adapt it/get inspiration from it 😊
Disclaimer: some of the mechanisms are probably wrong, so apologies, and if something like this already exists, I'm unaware :)
War of the Titans This is set in a completely independent universe/world called Echad (pronounced ehad). Legend goes that it was one realm, united but devoid of any magic or culture until the great Skaperi (Ska-pur-ri), a being with great power, wished to see life thrive. So, he split the world into 10 realms, imbuing each with a bit of his own magic to produce a multi-realm of diversity, life and magic. (Here's where there's probably a lot of differences from canon D&D lore but oh well) Before Skaperi split Echad into realms, six main species inhabited the world: Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Aarakocra and Owlfolk. When the realms split and magic was introduced, a few members of these races found that they were drawn to the magical energy of a certain realm. They absorbed the magic and bound themselves to their new land, thus becoming the protectors and leaders of their realm. They became the Titans.
The realms are arranged in a certain way, with a middle ring in the center holding "Mount Celestia" (I think that's a cannon realm? idk) where all the Titans hold council. Basically, each of the other realms have a titan that I've fleshed out a bit, and each of my players a tied to a specific realm and have connections with their Titans.
The main plot is that ages ago, there was a Great Titan War where one of the realms called Yadira (main Aarakocra realm) and its titan Damara were destroyed by a dark and forbidden type of magic, known to be researched by another titan, Kateros, of the Shadowfell realms. A bunch of political and war stuff later, the Titans banned together and banished to the Hades. Now, in the present time, the great titans have felt something changing in the core of Echad, just like it did centuries ago before Kateros was banished, and even further than that before Yatira was destroyed. It prophesized great magic, ancient magic, titan-magic. Something is afoot, ancient sites of magic have been disturbed, and soldiers bearing the mark of Kateros have been spotted. Is he returning, or is it simply and old faction, testing the waters? The player's respective Titans have sent them to figure it out.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________So that's basically it. There's a bunch of political intrigue, with different Titans having different agendas and even more lore and players with story arcs (Spoiler, the Titans may have made a mistake in the war, is Kateros really the bad guy?). There's too much info to put here so if you're interested and want to know more let me know! ok, thanks 😊
