I'd done a full post going into a bit of depth on the idea, but then my laptop died and lost the full post, so this is a shortened version of the question {sigh}
The character would know things that the players don't about the "world" just from existing in it. Some of this can be handled with lore dumps, some of it can be handled when they ask a question and a lot of it probably never comes up.
I know there are sites that let you do a wiki on your "world", but my idea is to build what I'm calling The MOTS Stone {Man on the Street}. It would hold all the information that a common {semi educated} man on the street would know. I'd make sure to make it clear that some of it isn't factual but rather the idea held by the common folk - "The White Knights are incorruptible" this wouldn't be true or be a game mechanic more a view the people held.
I'm going to be housing it in a google sheet and this will then be turned into an App for easier access.
My question for the forum is what sort of categorizes of information do people think would be useful? So far I have; Folk Lore and Superstitions Geography {Not a map, more that a general person could tell you the direction of the Capital and maybe a rough layout of the kingdom} Well known individuals Well known Guilds/Organisations Gods Gossip {They'd always be over hearing things as they go about there business so this would be added to as they progressed}
Edited to add; Laws
Now I might never use it, but enjoying geeking out of spreasheets a little too much...
I mean while you don’t want to use one of the tools you could just sign up for a free world anvil account and see their dashboard options and punch what I need

That's where i've gotten some of these from already, they have a lot of different "Types" for the articles. Some i've dropped as don't think they are helpful, but still felt like there are some holes.
Trying to think what I know about things in the real world :D
