I'm running my group (consisting of my brother and two of his kids) through tyranny of dragons. We're about to enter Rise of Tiamat having just finished clearing out Skyreach Castle of cultist influence. Blagothkus is taking the adventurers back to Waterdeep before heading off to rally the giants to fight the cult/dragons. (Will RP Blagothkus' intended path next session we get to play.)
Because of my poor DMing and my wanting to make the journey north more exciting for the kiddos (who were like 9 and 13 at the time we played it), we ended up skipping Naerytar entirely. They killed Rezmir in Skyreach so the cult needs a new wyrmspeaker. Those of you who've played this and/or read the adventure, what are your thoughts on just having Severin promote Dralmorrer Borngray to black wyrmspeaker and have him still stuck at Naerytar to forge a bond with Vorgy? (Can't for the life of me remember how to spell that dragon's name.)
They also killed the blue wyrmspeaker so I'll be having to come up with another one for that. (I'm trying to flesh out the lore a bit so they ended up with the green mask a while back, lost it, but gained the blue dragon mask in the process.) I'm thinking that one's gonna have to be pulled out of thin air a little bit since the blue wyrmspeaker didn't really ever make an appearance in the adventure as written. I might have the new wyrmspeaker be at Xonthal's tower trying to bond with Lennithon but that might be too much alike if I go the same route with Naerytar and the new black wyrmspeaker.
