Hello! I am a DM running Dragon of icespire peak and is planning to play the beyond the dragon of icespire peak trilogy ( storm lords wrath, sleeping dragons wake, divine contention). Is it wise to give the players an epic boon for defeating claugiliamatar/ebondeath or not? I personally think it would be cool but would it be balanced. In DMG it does say the players can get an epic boon for defeating an ancient Dragon.

When you thought you knew about spellcasting - you played a warlock
Why are most bard colleges a pain to type? I mean bard college of valor, compare to champion or evoker. Same goes for sacred oaths: paladin oath of devotion. That's even worse.
I don't think WoCE were very creative with the rogue and ranger subclass titles. I mean ranger archeotype? Roguish archeotype? Bro! Fighters are better but still is somewhat unsatisfying compare to a monastatic tradition or sacred oath.
It depends on what the characters will be doing afterward. In my campaign, we pretty much ended after DC, so it wouldn't matter very much. There is some stuff after the Leilon Siege in the module that is pretty hard (Death Night in the hallway of the shrine? CR 17??? I thought the dragon's ghost was supposed to be the hard part!!!). A boon might help them deal with it easier. Otherwise, I don't think it would be too bad, balance wise. The encounters are relatively scalable, so you could toss in some more monsters if its a cakewalk.
I think that kind of reward is easier to manage then 'I owe you one'. Imagine the craziness the players could get up to with an ANCIENT DRAGON on their team. Plus an epic boon? Very very cool. I wish I'd thought of that.
If you have access to Fizban's, I would suggest using the Draconic Gifts discussed there.

Also, i was just browsing about and it seems claugiliamatar is the main villain in storm kings thunder. Now I don't quite know her particular role, but I used my small brain and figured she was probaly manipulating the giants in some way. If so, should I make her say "I'll give you powers! I'll call off the giant invasion! I'll even give you a favor! Just spare me!"?
