Trying to run an encounter with a player and he states he can't log in without at least a hero subscription. I would have thought my subscription level would have granted access to use the Encounters for my created campaign.
Anyone run into this, have a workaround or point out what I'm overlooking?
That was our guess too, which is unfortunate. Everyone seems to like the interface of this much better than learning Avrae commands. We have a player that is out of state and sometimes a local plays virtually as well.
Not entirely sure but maybe you need to co-DM with the player for them to access DM side stuff? A player in the campaign can't see notes and such, nor can they edit the characters in the campaign, so perhaps the Encounter Build is coded for DM use?

The game log works for everyone and see all the rolls though... so that's a thing.
Yes, but my suggestion of co-DM is because encounters in your campaign are DM end stuff, not usually visible to players. The log is visible to everyone, because the log is a tool to help ensure nobody is cheating and stuff. I know our group bursts into laughter when the DM tells us "Everyone give me a Wis Save" and a 3 pops up for someone. Loads of fun, for sure.

The Encounters section is in Beta, so maybe only accessible to people with a subscription?
