I would like to use only forum. No other webs, links images. I would like to keep it smooth. I do not want players to be confused where are they and what is possible.
I was thinking of reducing the encounter to something like in the old jrpg games "pop up" encounters.
Create two rows of enemies and two rows for players. Each row of 4 spaces. This gives each team 8 places to put their characters. If enemy is in front row you can only atack second row with range attack, spells and sneak attacks
I would add to this variant with ambush (team can decide if want to use it). One team is in the middle two rows and second is around with groups of 2
Do you think it could work or "I should kill with fire" this idea as it change to much in the DnD 5?
