Trying to round out a Fey Lord. Could use some help bouncing ideas.

So I had an idea for my players. They are currently in my version of the fey wild. Right now they are trying to bring a Carbuncle they found (in the material plane) back to their home in the feywild, but they aren't familiar with the area even though they have a map. I was going to introduce them to a guide called "Whisper". He is a medium sized humanoid figure wearing a wooden mask and simple cloth and leather clothing. He is willing to be the guide for the players as they continue forward for the price of a secret that known one has said out loud.

In actuality he is a fey lord that has lost his face. His former name was Vaelren- The whisper lord. He was a fey lord who's main domain was illusion, secrets, hidden truth, glamour and bargains.

Unfortunately, his true face was stolen in an ancient fey conflict many many years ago and he is bound to the fey wild. His current form is that of a noble looking humanoid, but with no face that looks like a void. His emotions are tied to masks that he changes out depending on his temperment during conversations he is having. He wants to get his true form back and leave the feywild since there isn't really anything there for him anymore (maybe leading to future character patron/god for clerics, warlocks, etc). I was thinking of maybe linking him getting his face back to the carbuncle maybe. Not sure how though. I want to link him into the story but I am having a hard time figuring that out. Any help would be appreciated.

I have an image I made using the copilot ai based on the information I gave it on the character I made, but I figured that would be against the rules of the subreddit. If its not and anyone is curious I suppose I can put it in the comments. But really I just need help putting him into my story or two bounce ideas about him to flesh him out and make him a cool part of my world.
