I was not offended, and I apologize for the miscommunication if it seemed like I was offended. I also explicitly acknowledged that I knew it was a joke with "I understand you are joking" (so your reply seems odd). I was clarifying something that some players may not be aware off: there are effectively "D&D Police" in some venues, and it's possible to play the 'wrong' way in Organized Play. (not saying this is good... just indicating it's presence)
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your preferred style of game, and you're hardly alone in your preference.
As Vedexant has detailed, dealing with the DDB forum is a completely different beast. In addition to what has been said, I would add that the way you approach the forums here is just as important as the content & goal of your inquiries.
One thing that I have noticed (not necessarily from you; just in general) is that a lot of folks treat all of the sub-forums here as homebrew/house rule springboards. There is a dedicated forum for all homebrew/house rule discussion.
In particular, the Rules & Game Mechanics forum ought to be approached under the assumption that questions & discussions pertain to RAW/RAI, not house rules. Some discussions start out this way--such as describing a scenario, and asking whether the scenario is valid under RAW/RAI or not--and then someone comes along and starts making suggestions on the topic that completely disregard the actual rules in question (There are a handful of people that do this frequently). Those discussions then tend to snowball, and ultimately leave a thread with mixed/invalid information that can confuse someone browsing through it. This is especially frustrating when someone is scanning through a large thread for an answer on a topic that stopped being RAW/RAI after the first page.
You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
I think this is especially problematic with 5e, as the 5e rules, RAW, boil down to "you make a call as a DM" - much of the time.
How are DCs selected ( I know what a Difficult modifier is, but which category is jumping a 15' gap)? How exactly does Passive Perception work? When do you use Perception vs. Investigation? What base ability do you use with a skill roll, exactly? When do you break out alternate base abilities to use with that skill roll which is usually Wisdom? etc.
All these are pretty nebulous in 5e, RAW. I understand that 5e is a backlash/response to the hyper-detailed 4th ed rules - but the lack of clarity in the rules and the "whatever works for your table, you should do" approach to the RAW, means that interpretation, and rework of the rules is almost a requirement to make the system work consistently and clearly.
Many of the problems posted online fall under these nebulous areas - and they're simply impossible to answer purely from a RAW perspective, as the RAW just don't cover the situation clearly.

I agree, and those types of discussions do still pertain to RAI. I think you know what/who I'm referring to with the "house rule snowball" effect. 😂
