In my mostly college-aged group, I doubt they would have ever gotten the salt. I am not entirely certain that they know any food outside of pizza (rolls), chips and soda... maybe taco and burrito... but actually ingredients for cooking? Bad idea... and with only a single clue, this could devolve into an unsolvable puzzle quickly.

I feel like they should be able to get maybe a "pinch of salt" by making a "pinching" gesture... Maybe?
