I've got some ideas to a shadow rogue inspired for the Shadow monk and de Shadowdancer from 3.5, using preexistent features in the 5e i got the following Archetype (still without the flavor text) :
Lv 3: You gain darkvision with a range of 60 feet, if you already have darkvision, it's range increase by 30 feet.
While in darkness or dim light you can use your Sneak Attack, provided you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll.
lv 9: When you are in dim light or darkness, as a bonus action you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness, you are invisible until the end of your turn. You can use this ability Proficiency Bonus times before finishing a long rest.
When you hide in darkness you become invisible. This invisibility ends immediately if you deal damage or force saving throw.
lv 13: As an action you can create a illusion that last for 1 minute or until you loose concertation (as concentrating ons a spell) in front of a creature that you can see in a range of 30 feet, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier), if fail the target is frightened by the illusion.
lv 17: When you start your turn in darkness for the first time in a combat your next hit is a critical hit and deals psychic damage instead of it's normal damage.
Please answer the questions, and leave your opinion and tips for improve it
On the 17th lv the Sneak Attack deals 9d6 (goin to 10 on 19th) , the last feature allows the rogue to deals 18d6 + Dex + 2(weapon dice), as psychic damage, which is rarely resisted, it can be changed to necrotic if needed.
As a bonus action, you can summon a Shadow Beast in an unoccupied space in 30 feet that you can see. The Shadow Beast The hound uses the Raven's statistics (see the Monster Manual or appendix C in the Player's Handbook), with the following trais:
It's monstrosity that match your aliment and obey your commands.
It has the same number of hit dice than you (13d4 - 13 at 13th lv.), and is resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing nonmagical damage.
You can communicate with it telepathically while both of you are in the same plane of existence.
While your Shadow Beast its within 10 feet of you, creatures have disadvantage on attacks against you.
You can use your bonus action to order it to make an attack against a target within range using your Attack Bonus, if hits the target's Constitution is reduced in 1d4 points , the target falls unconscious if this reduces its Constitution to 0, the reduction lasts until the target finishes a short or long rest.
The Shadow Beast lasts for one hour or till it dies, you can summon it half you proficiency bonus times before finish a long long rest.
This is so heavily darkness themed that I see a very limited character. Unless you can give this guy a way to create areas of darkness to set up his ability. Maybe something that works like the ever smoking bottle.

Option to 13th lv:

I'd suggest looking at the Gloomstalker Ranger for ability inspiration, as well...
