As we all know, 5e is not perfect. no game system is. but, I love putting effort into my games, and with that comes a lot of homebrew. So I have decided that I will redesign the character options such as classes, feats, backgrounds, & spells. I would like to start with classes, and would like the communities feedback about the following classes and their premise, what is missing, what classes i should add, what classes i should remove.
1. Artificier/Arcane Artisan: the artificier is a master of magical invention, making many an arcane wonder. whether they made garments of dragonskin, blades of adamantium, robots powered by souls, or most anything else they are adept at crafting. Main stats: INT, DEX; Hit Dice: d8; Caster Power: 2/3; Inspired By: 5E D&D artificier; Main mechanic: craft magic items
2. Alchemist/Alchemical Brewer: like the artificier, the alchemist makes things, but rather than crafting clockwork wonders, they make potions, salves, herbal remedies, mutagens, & alchemical bombs. Main Stats: INT, CON; Hit Dice: D10; caster power: 1/3; inspired by: PF 2 alchemist; Main Mechanic: Potions
3. Barbarian/Ragefury: emotions are a powerful thing, especially anger. for those who have experienced great loss, and for those who instinct and fury is all they've ever know the path of the barbarian calls. fueled by their rage, Barbarians work themselves into a battle frenzy, ready to tear their enemies limb from limb. Main Stats: STR, CON; Hit Dice: d12; Caster power: none; Inspired by: the different barbarian classes; main mechanic: activate rage that gives better damage and health & other benefits
4. Bard/Storyteller: the Bard is a master of music, manipulater of the First Song. they have mastered the use of many instruments and other forms of art, suing their beauty to inspire their companions. they also draw power form the stories they know, allowing them to take on aspects of the characters in different tales, allowing them to change their capabilities as needed. Main Stats: CHA, INT; Hit Dice: d8; Caster power: 2/3; Inspired by: all the different bard classes; Main mechanic: tell different stories and gain the powers assosciated with them.
5.Cleric/Holy Invoker: invested with the powers of the Gods, Clerics are sent out into the world to serve the will of their deity, enacting justice upon those deemed damned by their faith. they know many spells of healing and resurrection, as well as spells of searing divine flames. they are adept at banishing otherworldly beings. Main stats: Wis, Cha; Hit dice: d6; Catser power: 3/3; Inspired by: clerics, 4e invoker; main mechanic: turn otherwordly beings.
let me know what you think of these 5 and I'll post more later
