i make an item to be able to store tamed creatures so my character can be the best beastmaster in my campaign while not having hordes of creatures following the party around. my dm said they would be open to look at it and think about it so i would appreciate some feedback. (i used an ai to help with formatting but was too tired to re-read everything so if there are any mistakes or problems just let me know so i can fix it)
You can use an Action to touch the sphere to a tame, non-humanoid creature.
"Non-humanoid" is a very broad term. If the idea is to have the character to be a beastmaster, why not limit the creature type to Beast? And what is considered tame? For example, a guard dog might be tame, but it could very well be hostile towards you if you're not the owner. Given their low intelligence score and the fact they're tame, means that you can force one into your pokéball and now you have a hostile dog with you. I would rephrase this that the beast needs to be friendly towards you.
Capacity: Up to two creatures of the same species (Small, Medium, or Large). If a creature is Huge, the sphere can only hold one. It cannot hold Gargantuan creatures.
You're already specifying one huge or two large or smaller. I find explicitly saying "cannot hold gargantuan creatures" redundant.
Once a creature is released during combat, it cannot return to the sphere for 5 rounds (30 seconds).
Why? I understand this mechanically, but why? What if the creature is released outside of combat? Can they then return whenever they want? Also, everyone knows how long 5 rounds last. I would specify only the time and remove the "during combat". Then it's clear it means always.
Does a creature inside the sphere need eat, sleep, or breathe? Can a tamed creature die of suffocation or undernourishment?

yes it is based/inspired of a Pokeball. I am specifying in combat to stop a creature from entering and exiting during combat to act as a way to protect itself and exit again while the enemies are distracted, outside of combat the there is no time limit. i also am clarifying not creatures of gargantuan size just for clarity so players can't be confused.i did say it creates a perfect replica so i assume it would give it requirements to survive but i have clarified. i also added more detail and specified that it can only capture creatures thaat are tamed BY the user, they cannot capture other peoples beasts that are tame towards them, ONLY creatures tamed by the player, i also specified that it must be a beast or (in extremely rare cases) dragons
The original link is only for the previous version. I can't give feedback for the updated version.
And you can keep the size clarification if you think it makes it clearer. I'm just saying that a description of "Huge or smaller" already rules out Gargantuan creatures as per RAW.
One comment though on the captured beast: Is there any limitation on the CR for the captured beast? Like a druid has a CR limit to its Wild Shape. You could argue that a level 5 character couldn't capture an adult dragon or a froghemoth in the first place, but it's possible.
15 Hit points for a pokéball is also very generous.
i'm just going to keep the 2nd version private to edit it for a bit. the comment on the creature rating makes sense but i have no idea how to implement it. i went with a random number generator and unlike a pokeball my thing is made of rare/strong metal and a pokeball is made of apricorns which is basically wooden (execpt for a few i believe)
Neat idea. Here's with a bit more sensible mechanics & language:
This mithralsphere is made of multiple interlocking pieces that fit into a central diamond. By peering into the diamond one can see what if any creature is contained within the sphere.
Capture Wildlife A creature holding this sphere can spend an Action to touch it to one unconscious or willing creature of one of the following types: Beast, Monstrosity, Dragon, Aberration. The target is magically transported into the sphere where it is stabilized (if it was dying) and are provided a suitable habitat, food, and water to meet its needs. The sphere can contain up to two creatures of the same type that are Large or smaller or one Huge creature at one time.
Restful Respite. Creatures stored within the sphere for at least 10 minutes gain the effects of a Short Rest, they also regain 1d6 hit points every hour they stored within the sphere.
Rapid Release As an action, you can release one or more creatures from within the sphere to an unoccupied space within 10 ft of you. A creature released in this way cannot reenter the sphere until: it has been reduced to 0 hp, or 1 minute has passed since its release.
Fragile. The sphere has an AC of 12, and 15 hit points. If the sphere is destroyed all creatures within are immediately released, and the sphere loses all magical properties.

So, it's essentially a pokéball?

this is not the direction i was going in its more like a portable stable/sanctuary for the creature/s not the beat into submission like a Pokeball
(i get the beat into submission isn't lore accurate for the Pokémon universe but basically what it is)
