I am trying to create a homebrew item for a monk - handwraps which increase their unarmed strike damage. They are a wondrous item, as opposed to a weapon. I want it to add 1d4 damage, and attempted to do so as follows:
Adding a new modifier, I set the Modifier Type to Damage, the Modifier Subtype to Unarmed Attacks, Dice Count to 1 and Die Type to d4. This does not reflect in the damage when equipped to a character. However, if I change the modifier, to use a fixed value rather than dice, it adds the bonus.
Is there another way to do this, or is it a bug where the die is not added to unarmed strike attacks? I guess I could just rework the item to add a flat value rather than the additional die if what I'm going for doesn't work.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
