I've had a bug of an idea in my head to create subclasses for DnD based on the Borderlands 2 character ability trees for a Borderlands-esque campaign. My overall concept is that at each subclass feature the player can progress down one of the three ability paths, each with 3 successive options. For example, a Level 10 fighter could have the first option from all three trees, 2 from tree A/1 from tree B, or all three in tree A. Rather than spend hours trying to figure out if/how this could be built, I was hoping all you fine homebrewers could help out! Below is a map of how the level structure and ability tree compares. direct link
For those interested in more details I'd be happy to share!
Hey are you still interested in this idea or made a working version? If you did get to a working version I would be interested in finding out more, with your permission of course. In case you didn't make a version I have ideas to add and workshop your original idea. I found this post through google-ing 'D&D 5e Gunzerker' just now 😅💀
