Hi! So I was thinking of making that signature cantrip most warlocks take, a little more unique and interesting rather then a staple damage dealer. Got the idea from a youtube video. I thought it might be interesting if it was different based on the patron. Right now just thinking about the two player's in my campaign who just multi-classed into warlock.
First: Trickster rogue who multi-classed into an archfey warlock. I was thinking about instead of doing damage, the blast would randomly teleport the target 10ft. This would fit the trickster nature of her and her patron, plus suits the feywild and it's weird ways. This would also give a bit of utility, allowing you to cast it against friendlies and possibly help them, or end up getting them in more trouble since the direction is random.
Second: Vengeance Paladin who chose hexblade warlock. Despite the option being hexblade, their patron is an archdevil succubus (long story). So I was thinking this could become fire damage, going with the devil thing, and it could be a single attack(damage scales instead of number of attacks) that has a minor explosion on impact giving a save to anyone within 5ft of the target to take no damage. Or some kind of leeching effect, similar to hexblade curse and much like a succubus does. But I'm not sure how to do the leeching effect without just being another hexblade curse. I thought about leeching energy and if you kill enough people you get a spell slot back but thought that might be too powerful.
The 10 ft teleport is interesting. I think you should be able to do damage AND teleport them 10 ft. Basically it is a weaker version of the Repelling Blast - no tactical strategy.
If you are going with a Succubus, I would work off the sexy stuff rather than the fire stuff. Charm and Psychic damage seem like a better idea. Perhaps all the damage is Psychic instead of force (slight downgrade), but if you manage to drop them down to 0 hp or lower with your Eldritch Blast, they are left with one hitpoint and are now Dominated by you for one round or until they take 1 hp of damage.

1. I thought that doing damage and teleporting would be too much, I forgot about repelling blast so it really isn't. However with this in mind hitting allies or random townsfolk for trickster reasons would be too harmful. Unless you can choose to do 0 damage? Is that a stupid option to add? I know the player loves the idea of using their eldritch blast to prank people.
2. I like the idea of psychic damage over fire, definitely. But I think the dominant thing is too much like a minor Accursed Specter, the feature at 6th level. Plus while she is a Succubus, she still granted his powers through the use of a weapon, hence the hexblade option, so I ended up coming up with a different idea entirely. That being if the eldritch blast kills the target then the siphoned energy fuels the next melee attack with some extra damage.
How about making it teleport d6x5 ft in a random direction (1d8 direction) and no damage? Greater potential movement but no strategy and no damage.
Hmm. That's certainly a lot more random, which definitely fits the nature of the feywild and tricksters. You don't think the potential for greater distance is too much? I guess since it's random there is no way to really abuse it, but with multiple beams it has the potential to go much further then a 2nd level spell.

Any advice or opinions I am entirely open to.
