So im attempting something a little different. Im going to have my players for a one shot become the monsters...straight out of the MM. The premise is that intellect devourers have been entombed in the bodies of some elves for 1000 years and the tomb has just been unlocked by some dungeon delving monsters. Queue a couple of new bodies. Should evoke a Stargate Goa'uld feeling, only the bodies dont last (cant heal) so encourage a couple of changes, finally ending in a battle against some adventurers.
But beyond whatever abilities the bodies give them i want them to retrieve their own personal weapons. Weapons that should be their primary offense so the power should be high enough that they should consider using it vs an ability/spell of a cr5/6 monster. They are inspired by Stargates tech.
1.Ring - Invis + 2d8 sneak for 1minute (3 charges). - The tool of a sneaker character, one who prefers to stab in the back and escape than to watch the life drain from them.
2. Collar - Summon/control creature (only 1 at a time?).(3 charges). - I considered an animate dead idea here for taking control and using others.
3. Rod - Call lightning single target 3d8 for 1 minute, can shift target (3 charges). - Meant to be used as a show of power, harming a single target from a distance to quell the masses.
4. Gauntlet - Inflict wounds 3d8 (item active for 1 minute) (3 charges). - Meant to flavour like the Ribbon device ..up close and pain causing.
What are your thoughts and suggestions.
