Is there any way to make a 2H weapon a hex weapon? I have a custom hexblade class AND a custom weapon based off a greatsword. I figured out the "hex warrior" workaround, so I can see the checkbox on other weapons, but am guessing I can't see it on my custom weapon b/c the restriction on 2H weapons is somehow hard wired?
And, yes, I can just adjust the stats through the "custom" options, but I'm hoping I can set it up so I don't have to remember to adjust the stats when my player's proficiency or charisma changes.
If that's not possible, I'll settle for a way to create a custom weapon w/ 2d6 +1 damage that doesn't have to use "greatsword" as a base.
I saw your comment and went ahead and made a copy of the Hex Blade subclass to see what is going on in the back end. I could not see for any of the level 1 abilities the modifier from Hex Warrior that changes the relevant stat for your attacks to charisma. It might be that they made the modifier inaccessible to us. I could be wrong, but you might be stuck with the custom attack for now :/
The normal way to make a 2H weapon a hex weapon, is to take the Pact of the Blade. Little awkward cause that's at 3rd level though.
The wording on hex weapon states you can't pick a two-handed weapon. Then it states that none of the Hex Blade's restrictions apply to a Pact Weapon. Any weapon that is a pact weapon can be used a hex weapon regardless of any traits (except if it isn't a pact weapon of course).
As for homebrewing that restriction away- yeah got nothing to help you.

if I edit a message, most of the time it's because of grammar. The rest of the time I'll put "Edit:" at the bottom.

Sorry I can't be of more help!
Actually super helpful. At least I know I'm not missing some creative work around. ;-)
Thanks!
