I would like to try something... ambitious. I am looking for a group of four players that can commit to a 6+ year series of play-by-posts, going through the six connected "Varisian Hexalogy" Pathfinder Adventure Paths (converted to 5e, of course): Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the Crimson Throne, Second Darkness, Jade Regent, Shattered Star, and Return of the Runelords. Each AP will take your character from 1st to ~16th level (20th for the final one), and we'd have a different cast of characters (but hopefully the same players) each time. We'd start with Rise of the Runelords, the quintessential AP, a free player's guide for which can be found here.

Character Name: Race: (PHB, EE, VGM allowed) Class: (PHB, XGE, TCE allowed) Ability Scores: (standard array or point buy) Brief Backstory: Starting Background Feat: (chosen from the list in the spoiler below) Ability to Share Content?: I'm running 10 games; I ran out of slots for content share long ago, and if anybody is able to share I would be most appreciative. I'd let you start with a point of inspiration. Post Sample: An example of a "typical" post of yours; can be taken from a PbP you're in. Ability to post once/day?: Required
Background Feats:
Eager Performer: Hearing that Sandpoint had a theater rivaling those found in large cities like Magnimar and Korvosa, you decided to try your luck getting stage time there. After sending a letter to Cyrdak Drokkus requesting an audition and not hearing back, you’ve taken it upon yourself to travel to Sandpoint and meet him in person, trusting your force of will and charming influence will get you what you want.
Increase your Charisma by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
You choose one 1st-level spell of the Enchantment school from the bard’s spell list. Once per long rest, you can cast this spell at 1st level without using a spell slot. The DC for the spell, if applicable, is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier.
Family Ties: While not ethnically a Varisian, you have been raised among Varisians and they consider you one of their own. Furthermore, you managed to get in good with a group of Sczarni and consider them your new family. After being run out of the last place your Sczarni family camped, you tracked down a friend of the family in Sandpoint—a ruthless thug named Jubrayl Vhiski at the Fatman’s Feedbag. During your time with the Sczarni, you learned a few tricks of the trade.
Increase your Dexterity or Charisma by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
Choose two of the following skills: Deception, Intimidation, Sleight of Hand, or Stealth. You gain proficiency with those skills.
Friends and Enemies: One of your family members, perhaps a parent, cousin, aunt, or uncle, helped Daviren Hosk put down a group of goblins near Sandpoint. Since then, your family member passed away, but not before telling you about that day and the offer Daviren made to her should she ever be in need. Once you make it to Sandpoint and meet up with Daviren Hosk at the Goblin Squash Stables, he gives you one of his best steeds and all the necessary accoutrements as gratitude for your family member’s help.
You gain a heavy combat trained horse, a military saddle, saddlebags, bit and bridle, a month’s worth of feed, and lifetime stabling at the Goblin Squash Stables.
You gain proficiency with Animal Handling.
Giant Slayer: Your family’s village was plundered by giants in the wilds of Varisia, leaving nothing but a smoldering ruin. After the destruction of your village, your family trained for combat against giants to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again. Since hearing of giants mobilizing throughout the countryside, you ventured to Sandpoint to help the town prepare for a possible incursion.
Increase your Strength or Dexterity by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
You deal 1 extra damage to creatures larger than you for each size category they are larger than you. For example, a medium creature with this feat deals 1 extra damage to large creatures, and 2 extra damage to huge creatures.
Hagfish Hopeful: Ever since passing through Sandpoint when you were a child and hearing about the contest at the popular tavern known as the Hagfish, wanted to take that coin purse as your own and carve your name on the ceiling beam above the bar. Training yourself to choke down indigestible food and drink water a pig would refuse, you’ve built up quite strong resistance to all things putrid and gross.
Increase your Constitution by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned or diseased.
Merchant Family: You are related to one of the four noble families from Magnimar who founded the Mercantile League of Sandpoint. You either grew up in Magnimar as a cousin in the Valdemar or Deverin family or were born and raised in Sandpoint. Education in running a business and years of looking after the family enterprise have given you a knack for trade.
When you purchase gear or magical items, you get a 20% discount.
When you sell gear or magical items, you sell them for 60% of their value, rather than 50%.
Monster Hunter: Perhaps you came to the Varisian Gulf in search of the Sandpoint Devil, or maybe you followed fisherman’s tales of Old Murdermaw—regardless, you’ve ventured through Varisia to hunt down famous monsters. While they have all eluded you so far, you made it to Sandpoint to research and restock before heading back out into the wilderness.
Increase your Dexterity or Wisdom by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
Choose one of the following skills: Perception, Stealth, or Survival. You gain proficiency in that skill.
Scholar of the Ancients: Growing up with your nose in books, you’ve had a great interest in past cultures and ancient history. Furthermore, having grown up in Varisia, you know the monuments dotting the landscape belong to an ancient civilization known as Thassilon. From your life of study and dogged research, you’ve pieced together the language and partial history of this once-great empire.
Increase your Intelligence by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
You can speak and read Thassilonian.
You have advantage on Intelligence (History) checks made to recall knowledge about ancient Thassilon.
Student of Faith: While you have personally dedicated your life to a single deity, you study all religions and mortal faiths. Upon hearing that the town of Sandpoint recently completed a cathedral dedicated to the six deities most popular in the area, you had to see the place for yourself, and have arrived in time for the consecration of this holy edifice.
Increase your Wisdom by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
When you cast a spell that heals a creature’s hp, roll the dice twice and use whichever is higher.
Very tempted, will sleep on an idea and get back to you in the morning.
Going to unfortunately withdraw from the selection. I currently have 8 or so PbP's going and as much as I would love the thought of a long campaign, I will leave it to others. Plus, I am not sure I could come up with any better submissions than the ones already here.
Good job peeps.

Curse this weather and curse those who sent me here, I will get my revenge on them whenever I am able to escape this accursed place, Ssej thinks as he helps pull the long boats over the ice back from fishing for the day. As he stands up arching his back all you can see sticking out from the many furs he is wearing is a green teeth lined snout and the tip of his tail and hint of an orange frill tapering to a point. He claps his crew mates on the shoulders as they all make their way to the Wolf's Pelt Inn, seeking what warmth they can find in this god forsaken land at the bottom of a tankard. The door bangs loudly as the group boisterously enters the inn and Ssej signals to the bartender to deliver a round of ale for the group as they take their seats at the back of the inn. Before sitting down Ssej takes a look around the room and then sits with his back against the wall keeping an eye on the door.
After several drinks Ssej finally removes some of his furs and you can now see the furs were hiding a mountain of a lizardfolk. Towering over most humans of the town is an extremely muscled lizardfolk with green scaly skin with splotches of darker green areas dotting his body. There is an orange frill that starts at the top of his head and goes all the way down his back to very nearly the tip of his tail. He excitedly tells stories with is hands never spilling a drop of his ale as his tail deftly grips the tankard weaving it back and forth. The surrounding group of fisherman all seem to like and respect Ssej. The group seems to be getting rowdier and rowdier as the night goes on but if one would pay close attention to Ssej you can see he is always looking around the room making note of his surroundings.

Brief Backstory: Berdach was raised by his mom, Ahmin, who lived with a troupe of traveling performers called Zantorini's Amazing Zealots. The troupe traveled from town to town putting on performances, and engaging in other related activities, like fortune telling (his Mom's specialty), the selling of "magic" portions, etc. During one stop, Ahmin met Berdach's father. As she would also provide "lady favors" after hours, she has no idea who his father actually is. In the larger towns, the members of the troupe also rob participants, mostly with pickpockets, but, doing some "second story" jobs. When Berdach was old enough to participate in the performance he started out doing acrobatics, and has he grew, added tight rope walking to his skills. About a year and a half in the past, Berdach left Zantorini's troupe and chased after a girl in another troop that he had a brief fling with. But, he soon realized the girl was not interested in a long term relationship with him. Broken-hearted, Berdach left that troupe and began looking for another group to work with. The half-orc thought he had found a new group to travel with, until, they were working a crowd in a town, and the town guard started rounding up the troupe for stealing. As Berdach was on a roof top starting to set up his tight rope act, he managed to get away, and is now worried that there may be a price on his head. But, having heard about Cyrdak Drokkus theater, Berdach decided to try auditioning for a spot there.

Post Sample: Slightly disappointed that she could not see any sight of the dragon, Yevele turns to look at the woman in the purple robes that the governor is pointing at. The young woman stares down at the purple clad stranger for a moment, trying to memorize the way the woman walked and carried herself. At this distance, she was unlikely to be able to see the woman's face, but, she remembered Lao Te saying that "a persons walk can be as distinctive as the whorls on their fingers. The way they swing their arms, the movement of their head. Many a person can disguise their face, but, few can disguise their stride."
After watching the woman, Yevele will accompany Rogram back down stairs with the kobold before returning to the war room.

“Lia I believe there is a candy shop in town that requires some special attention. I love candy. And we can work while we’re there. Care to join me?” Dumasz looks around the room. “Each of you are welcome to join me, but I suspect we’ll cover more ground if we split up. Brief backstory: Laura never knew her origins but that never mattered to her. The Sczarni was always her family and even when they brought her up to steal and trick people out of their silver, she reckoned they had to do what they did to survive in a world that never wanted them, any of them. Her only connection to her past was a green crystal, the shape of an oak leaf. As the years passed her curiosity over this trinket had increased. Only recently she had begun having vivid dreams of lush forests she never had visited and a melodious voice teaching her fey magic. Her newfound powers made her work almost to easy, charming her way into peoples purses, and she risked ever more to take from the wealthy and more well protected. Although Varisia was their land the new rulers from the south took every opportunity to punish them for their way of life, making them move on and on, never giving them solace for even a while. Laura finally decided to leave the safety of her family and to travel Varisia in search of adventure and her first stop was to be The Fatman´s Feedbag in the sleepy village of Sandpoint.

Character Name: Nerra Stormborn Race: Variant Human Class: Warlock (Genie) Ability Scores: point buy Brief Backstory:
Nerra was born during a terrible storm that ravaged the area for multiple days on end. During that storm she, as a baby still, connected to it in a way that no one was able to understand. As she grew older she never feared storms, but reveled in them. It was not until later in her life though that the Djinni started to speak with her. No one else could see the being that came to her, but Nerra could. The Djinni often appeared as a tiny sprite to Nerra, and the two talked and played. Most of Nerra's friends and family thought it just an invisible friend, imaginery and of no great concern. It was not until she started to show signs of magical powers that some started to wonder about this being Nerra was speaking with.
Then the giants came. Only a few of the villagers made it to safety, and there was simply nothing left of what Nerra had once called home. With her family, she moved to a new village, and they took up training to fight the giant skerge. Nerra trained harder and longer than anyone, not wishing another to have to lose everything as she had. Recently she has traveled to Sandpoint to aid the town against a possible threat from giants.

Backstory: Borrin and his brother Tharin were orphaned at a young age. They traveled from place to place trying to find a place that felt like home. They found a inactive volcano with a village at its depths, finally, they felt at home. Tharin became more interested in history and the gods with Borrin trying out the musical arts. Years passed, and the two were doing well in this village when disaster struck. The volcano, who everyone had though inactive, erupted. In a panic, Borrin fled down one of the side tunnels, barely escaping the lava flow. He has no idea if his brother or anyone else survived. After a week of traveling, Borrin found a city. He eased into a routine there while hoping for any news of his brother. After a year of working in the city, he got accepted into the bard’s college and perfected his craft. He decided to go explore the worlds when he heard news that his brother was still alive.

Here's my submission for the campaign, which sounds very promising. I looked at information in the Player's Guide and related websites and thought that Desna probably made the most sense for the Twilight domain. Should I get selected, you can let know if that works, or if perhaps there is some other deity more appropriate.
Character Name: Coralon
Race: Firbolg
Class: Cleric (Twilight Domain)
Ability Scores: Str 15, Dex 10, Con 13, Int 12, Wis 17, Cha 8 (Standard Array w/Racial Adjustments, does not include feat)
Brief Backstory: The firbolg who calls himself Coralon grew up among a small, reclusive clan of his people on the fringes of the Lurkwood. They practiced an ancient form of druidic magic focused on the stars and constellations, but their legends say that from time to time one of their own will be chosen by fate to serve a particular god. There are clan stories of firbolgs who left the clan to travel the word on various missions and quests for mysterious divine purpose, sometimes returning decades or centuries later, or maybe not returning at all.
An ancient clan prophecy said that one such champion would be chosen for the goddess Desna when the stars aligned properly. Several months ago, one of the clan's highest-ranking druids read just such an omen in the stars and realized the champion must be among them. The next night, a small meteor destroyed a tree under which Coralon was resting--but he somehow was completely unhurt. The druids took this as a sign that Coralon was to be Desna's champion. They pulled out some long-hidden gear that they had been saving for this occasion, per the prophecies, and began to train Coralon in some different forms of ancient magic and lore of various gods.
Recently, the story of the consecration of the cathedral to six gods in Sandpoint has reached the ears of the firbolg. The druids believe there may be a connection to this event and the emergence of their priest of Desna. Thus, they are sending Coralon to Sandpoint to find out what his happening there and if it portends any greater events. And of course they realize that a servant of Desna must be willing to travel the world and undertake exciting journeys in order to fulfill the goddess's purpose.
For his part, Coralon doesn't really have a clue why he was chosen for this role, but he is eager to see and explore the outside world, as he always has dreamed of seeing more places but never thought he would be able to leave his clan. He's also a little uncertain about all of this new faith and knows he has much learning to do.
Starting Background Feat: Student of Faith
Ability to Share Content?: Unfortunately I am not able to share content.
Post Sample: Here's a post from a game I am playing in here at D&D Beyond: Garavant grins, his eyes flashing brightly with the thrill of combat, as the rapier draws monstrous blood. A moment later, his face pales slightly as the highwayman is torn apart by the savage beast. He steels himself, focusing intently now as he sees the deadly stakes of the battle.
Taking advantage of the chaos and confusion created by so many attackers, he thrusts his rapier at one of the beast's exposed spots, channeling an old magic trick he'd learned from his teacher. Energy surges into the beast, and Garavant nimbly steps back, looking to keep out of the creature's reach. He holds his rapier before him, getting ready to strike again if need be.
Ability to post once/day?: Not a problem at all. I am active on this site.
Character Name: Lupius Pacia Race: Variant Human Class: Wizard (going Order of Scribes at level 2) Ability Scores: 8 14 13 15 12 10 (Point buy) Brief Backstory: Living his youth in Magnimar, Lupius became interested in the magical constructs common to the city. Being a second-born son of a trader, he was encouraged to follow his interests (as his older brother would inherit the family business), and was allowed to enroll in the new school of magic in the nearby Galduria. In there he grew even more interested in studying itself, especially of the ancient history of the area. Now, having learned wizardly magic and Thassilonian, he feels ready to take his studies to the field. He first visited his parents back in Magnimar, and has now come to Sandpoint to stock up on a couple items he forgot, and to take a look at the Old Light, the ancient lighthouse of the town. Starting Background Feat: Scholar of the Ancients Ability to Share Content?: Can't share, but I have bought everything I should need for this character Post Sample: Nodding along, Alberich answers: "Yes, Alberich Ironfist, at your service."He grabs one of his somewhat finger-sized eel bits, and slurps it down whole. It threatens to get stuck in his throat, but he helps it down with some Fireale. "*cough* Ah, that's the stuff. So, I heard you recently quit the gig I've just started. I was wondering if you had any tips for a new Hand", he goes on. Ability to post once/day?: Yes, more active on weekdays. but can usually post on weekends too

Now he heads for the city, to help against a rising threat, and live up to his promises.
Starting Background Feat: giant slayer
Ability to Share Content?: I am pretty handy with homebrew to get folks set, including the starting feats for everyone .
Post Sample: Usually a sentence or two as most interactions are pretty simple. Sometimes I’ll post something longer when it has more nuance or an opportunity for details. I like posts and activity to be organic. I don’t care to post inner monologues, I prefer to let my intentions be known by actions or dialogue with a character.
“Lia I believe there is a candy shop in town that requires some special attention. I love candy. And we can work while we’re there. Care to join me?” Dumasz looks around the room. “Each of you are welcome to join me, but I suspect we’ll cover more ground if we split up. I’d be willing to bet that Vahorn will have an easier time of tracking if we get on this quickly, before we lose the light.”
Dumasz heads for the candy shop with whoever would like to come.
Ability to post once/day?: I’m good for 1-2 posts every day, sometimes more

Character name: Laura Vakaris
Race: Half elf
Class: Archfey Warlock
Ability scores: 8 14 12 12 14 18 (point buy)

Post sample: Again I´m new, hopefully this doesn´t mean I can´t apply. I can always come up with something if that helps.
Ability to post once/day: Yes, would very much enjoy this commitment.
Character Name: Nerra Stormborn
Race: Variant Human
Class: Warlock (Genie)
Ability Scores: point buy
Brief Backstory:

Years passed, and the two were doing well in this village when disaster struck. The volcano, who everyone had though inactive, erupted. Placeholder. I would love to participate in a long-term campaign.
Post Sample: Here's a post from a game I am playing in here at D&D Beyond:
Garavant grins, his eyes flashing brightly with the thrill of combat, as the rapier draws monstrous blood.
Character Name: Lupius Pacia
Race: Variant Human
Class: Wizard (going Order of Scribes at level 2)
Ability Scores: 8 14 13 15 12 10 (Point buy)
Brief Backstory: Living his youth in Magnimar, Lupius became interested in the magical constructs common to the city.

It threatens to get stuck in his throat, but he helps it down with some Fireale. "*cough* Ah, that's the stuff. So, I heard you recently quit the gig I've just started. I was wondering if you had any tips for a new Hand", he goes on.
