Backstory: Rotom is a thief, plain and simple. He steals to survive. His small stature affords him some anonymity despite him being a kobold. With his cloak pulled up he can pass pretty unseen in the shadows. He dreams of being more, of a life where he doesn't have to steal and hearing the call for adventurers he sees a way out of the life that has been his since he was just a hatchling, all those 10 long years ago.
Personality: Rotom is pretty meek and seen as cowardly. He would rather run and hide than fight.
Fun Fact: I am a full Mandalorian, armor and all.
D&D experience: Been playing for about a year now. Like most Im sure, Ive been watching Critical Role for about 4 years now.

Name: Onu Apagado
Race/Class: Monk
Background: Criminal/Spy
Backstory:
Onu Apogado is dressed in fine clothes, carefully tailored to his short stature. A double-breasted jacket and a waistcoat carefully conceal easy-to-access darts and small blades while his walking stick doubles as a staff, or with a quick twist of the haft reveals a wickedly sharp shortsword hidden within. He presents himself as the third son of the Grand Duke of Doppendorf, out seeking opportunities for trade and commerce for the Duchy. His papers draw on the credit of the Duchy itself for his expenses and for the goods he purchases to ship back 'home'. Of course, Onu takes a broker's fee of 10% for facilitating the sale - a 10% he takes in hard coin but is happy to bake into the price of the goods sold to the 'Duchy'. Once the goods have been bought on credit, he then waylays the shipments and sells the now twice stolen goods in another town down the road. It's worked well so far, and will as long as he doesn't double back on his own trail. The handful of merchants who have suspected his scam have met with unfortunate accidents before they could sully his reputation or ruin his standing.
Personality: Onu is definitely a scout/thief/charmer. Think of him as James Bond with no conscience - starts by charming, conning or weaseling his way towards his goal, but not adverse to punching someone in the throat or cutting their hamstrings either. He's sure he's always smarter than his mark - which of course means he's bound for a fall and a fail. He loves fine food, fine wine and fine clothes - not to mention fine women and the occasional man.
Fun fact about you: I run marathons. Or rather I finish marathons at a pace faster than the sag wagon.
D&D experience: Been playing IRL since the redbox came out, been on D&D Beyond for a couple of years and have just started a new IRL game.
Should we have a campaign discord to discuss out of character stuff: Yup.
For character creation, 4d6 reroll 1s once for stats, you can reroll if you have less than 70 total or use point buy. Tasha's racial and class options are all okay, if you want custom lineage, I just want you to give a reason why you are using it over a normal race. UA content is generally okay as long as you check in with me, I just like warning when it comes to that.

Name: Throden
Race/Class: Lizardfolk/Druid
Background: Far traveler
Backstory: Seasons ago, Throden's tribe birthed its largest brood of hatchlings. Hatchings are useful in many ways (they grow to defend and provide for the tribe), but to be useful they must be fed. Throden was among those sent by his tribe to fund the feeding of the new hatchlings. He left the Mere of Dead Men, hunting. Soon he found it was more useful to hunt for gold than apefolk. Gold could be traded for portions of meat larger than apefolk (called aurochs and horses) easily and quickly. Apefolk would even make themselves useful in the process. Rumors of gold (most of which he plans to trade for meat to send back to the swamp) have attracted Throden to Oakhurst.
Personality: Throden is a lizard. Most apefolk think of him as neutral and cold. He is interested in survival and sees increasing others' survival as increasing his own odds of doing well.
Fun fact about you: I'll be vaccinated later today! Excited about it.
D&D experience: I'm DMing CoS right now. It has been fun. Also DMed ToA F2F a few years ago and really liked it. I've played AL and as a player here.
Should we have a campaign discord to discuss out of character stuff: OOC posts here seem simpler to me, but I'll go with the group/stick with the party.
Backstory: Ashara had a pretty comfortable as the youngest daughter of the leader of the tribe. She was able to spend most of her time communing with nature and experimenting with herbs. After her father passed, her siblings were not so happy with her lackadaisical attitude and gave her an ultimatum. If she wanted her rightful place as a member of the Tribe's council she would have to prove herself. They banished her from the tribe until the time she had gathered enough experience to earn back membership. She doesn't know exactly what that means, but was told that she will know when she is ready.
Personality: Chilled out
Stats: 13 - 16 - 14 - 14 - 17 - 13
Fun fact about you: I am a rock climber
D&D experience: (You don't need any, I just like having a variety of experience): Started DMing last year. Recently joined a group as a player.
Should we have a campaign discord to discuss out of character stuff: Hard to tell if we will need one. Never pbp
Wow there are a lot of great characters here. I'll be choosing tomorrow morning probably so if you have anything else you wanna add or if you want to apply, do it fast

Backstory: Daerryl is known for exploring those paths to the under dark to bring the kidnapped surface dwellers up out of slavery back to their homes. It only made sense he was sought out to delve the Sunless Citadel to find the lost Hucrele brothers.
Personality: easy going and curious. Not a leader per se, but happy to Shepherd the uninitiated through trouble and out the other side.
Fun fact about you: not much I’d really care to share with strangers, but things change once you get to know a group. I dunno. I got my first dose of vaccine the other day?
D&D experience: lots of pbp, DMing my own homebrew game for more than two years, and a small amount of live game (in person and online) experience as player and DM. All 5e, with some Dark Matter and Lowlife2090 experience.

Backstory: Torban is the idol of his home village. Everyone's awed and inspired by him, he's everyone's favorite guy, It's not very hard to see why. Torban comes from a long line of lumberjacks. His family's lumber empire has left them wealthy and comfortable. Torban was like the 4th brother, but raised to prominence when at the age of 16 he fended off dozens of goblins from crossing a bridge and giving his sister time to warn the town. Hailed as a hero for that, he has been living it large since then. When rumors about Oakhurst came to their village, Torban knew it was time to set off to face bigger challenges.
Personality: A huge strapping young man, Torban is a bit of a blowhard and a little overbearing. He does mean well though and his natural charm goes a long way towards tempering that.
Fun fact about you: I buy and paint Heroforge miniatures even for some of my play-by-post only characters.
D&D experience: Like 32 years? Over 10 years pbp?
Should we have a campaign discord to discuss out of character stuff: Yes, or just a PM thread on the forums.
