You can also stop to deal with the goblin squad.
Or some can deal with the goblins while others try to open the pipes.
(Simply post what actions (open pipes/attack goblins) you want your character doing on turn one... plus whatever else... bonus action, movement etc.)
The goblins have fallen prone upon entering the pumping station and the area that is being affected by the Control Water spell is considered difficult terrain.

Pepin stops opening the pipes or a moment as he takes his all-purpose tool from which suddenly a tiny cannon emerges that lands on Randall's shoulder. After which he uses one hand for a short moment to make some intricate movements on his armor.

Z will cast Synaptic Static, trying to cover as many of the Goblins within its 20ft radius sphere as possible.
Damage 32 Psychic, or half with a DC16 INT test.
After a failed save, a target has muddled thoughts for 1 minute. During that time, it rolls a d6 and subtracts the number rolled from all its attack rolls and ability checks, as well as its Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration. The target can make an Intelligence saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

The goblins struggle to regain their footing in the flow of water and make any headway toward the party members.
Petcan opens the pipe he is working on and more water cascades into the room.
Zenodor uses magic to make a psychic explosion that kills 11 goblins.
Randall continues to guide the flow of water and summons a spectral mace that nearly takes a goblin's head off.

Tempe though sure his spell wont work once the goblins have to swim cast spike growth to give his friends a break in defending. He points to a point "Don't pass that point" he says as he casts the spell.
