Cass says “aye Mates-. much as I’d like to go shopping like any good girl in port, we probably should see this guy is… all sorted and see whot there is t’ sell o his stuff. Let’s have a wander back to the ‘stone and ‘ave a word wit ‘im. Captn Ceesh- savvy? Or since it’s in the shipyard gettin hauled over- mayhap a local tavern would do- needs a private room so we don’t disturb the locals…”
There's several taverns in this busy city, and as luck would have it, a tavern by the name of The Nimble Troll is just a few hundred feet down the road. The tavern isn't quite so busy at this time in the afternoon, but sneaking in the two captives might still prove difficult. If you're going to try and get the two undetected into a room, you're gonna have to come up with something.

“Birdie” cannot help himself from tapping his toes. He stifles himself from formally joining in with percussion assist and vocals knowing his ‘performance’ skills would likely detract from the artistry currently on display.
"Was that a plan or an attempt to earn some coin?" Robin asks, half-smiling at the music. She shrugs and, reaching back, unties the braid in her red hair. She fluffs it up, making it look mussed a bit. Moving over to the unconscious mage, she slips an arm around his waist, taking some of his weight and nodding to whomever is on the far side of him. "Just a few early partiers looking for a private room to keep things going..." She murmers to the others as she moves towards the door, swaying as if having had a few drinks herself.
The cashier hands Robin a key, points at a room marked "room #4" and continues watching the lute solo, completely distracted. The eyes of the entire room are locked on the musical otter, and nobody notices the robed figure or the armored corpse being dragged into the hotel room.

"Keep his mouth gagged and his hands tied good, but otherwise remove the rest of the bindings." Robin instructs as she lays out the mage on the bed/table/couch. "Likely keep his legs tied as well, so he doesn't try to run if he wakes." She waits for this to be done, and will help if needed. Then she would start searching the mage for anything of interest, value, or use... Investigation: 19 Guidance: 3
The robed man carried almost nothing, save for his Dagger of Warning, spellbook, and an amulet. Detect Magic reveals all of these to be highly magical. The body of the armored figure has nothing on it, except a red gem on its chest, almost identical to the amulet. As you search the corpse, you discover that there was no body inside the armored figure. Inside the armor, there is nothing but wood and gears.

Robin will take the 3 magical items and cast identify on them. She will lay claim to the spellbook, and be more than willing to share with any other wizards in the group. She would love to have the dagger of warning, as it works well with her build, but it also works well for others - and she needs to not be too greedy. The amulet would likely be fine going to just about anyone.
The Dagger of Warning is a completely normal Dagger of Warning. Everything in its description applies to the knife.
The Spellbook is... a Spellbook, and it functions exactly like one. However, it is written in a encrypted text, so reading the spells from its pages is impossible without decoding it. It is also revealed my Identify that the book has Symbol cast on it seven times.
The amulet is a Shield Guardian Amulet, functioning as normal, which means the lifeless pile of wood and metal in the floor are the remains of a Shield Guardian.

Anyone whot wants to play fer this dagger speak up!”
There's probably a gambling table downstairs, if you want to play for the dagger.
If anyone wants to, they can play. Otherwise, you can just go to your original destination.

Gianna will make sure her more bulky items are secure in the room then go to the beach for a swim. After becoming refreshed she will go back to the tavern to watch people trade money in various means. She enjoys watching people play, not participating in the gambling itself.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(DragonDenn is celebrating a birthday and will be offline until Monday morning. I know Robin would want a chance at that dagger. Instead of asking for permission I’ll roll for Robin and ask for forgiveness later.)
”Birdie”s roll: 7 (if he wins Captain Ceesh will have right of first refusal, and then Robin will have right of second refusal)
Proxy roll for Robin: 5
(Oh man, the fates did not like me doing that. Good luck everyone else!)
