"As Zyllith appears to be to most awake, I would suggest we take turns to keep watch in the same order we have been walking - Zyllith, Vernon, Arisa, Osmord, and then myself."
Arisa agrees to this watch order, and is in favor of resting in one of the towers.
Assuming that Zyllith goes outside, slinks back into the darkness and scouts out the watchtowers you passed earlier by the drawbridge, she reports that each tower is 20 feet tall, with a roof enclosed by crenellated battlements. Inside each tower is a wooden ladder that leads to an unlocked trapdoor in the roof. The top of each tower is about 10' x 10' wide, as the inside. So, if you were to rest here, the five of you could potentially crowd together and fit inside, or on the top of one tower.
In addition, each tower contains a winch that connects to the chains that are fastened to the drawbridge. It's easily apparent that both mechanisms must be turned to extend or retract the chains that raise and lower the drawbridge.

Earlier... Osmord rouses himself from the temple bedroom with a sigh,
"First we go this way, and then we all go that way... so Osmord follows."
On watch... later that night, when roused from his slumber Osmord will take the watch. (Perception 18).
As he sits there watching he removes the incense from his shell and placing it in a bowl he took from the temple he sprinkles charcoal over the top before lighting it. [Ritual Cast Find Familiar He sits over the smouldering incense muttering his incantations into the darkness until at last a sharp "Caw!" greets him from the nearby window ledge. Osmord looks up to see the Raven standing there, it's head cocked to once side. The creature is a wretched thing, half rot and half feathers. It's eyes are white and filmed over as in death and maggots can be seen crawling from an old bloody bite mark in its breast. When Belkas comes to take the last watch Osmord grins up at him,
"Greetings friend Belkas... worm will keep you company. Please do not feed her."
Arisa rolls her bedroll out, removes her armor discreetly while wearing her cloak, and goes to sleep quickly. On her watch she watches from the roof under the stars. Perception 8+5 (13). She spends her watch in contemplation to remember everything she knows about this town, and why giants might want to attack it.. She says a prayer (guidance) to help her recollection.
History check 2+5 (7) plus 1 (8) Lol not much. She is still too tired..
Belkas had a fevered dream of demons and tortured souls and nearly screamed as he woke to the putrid stench and grim visage of Osmord leaning over him. Realizing where he was, Belkas thanked Osmord, moved over to take watch, and wrapped his cloak tightly around him against the chill air. He was fascinated to see how Osmord simply pulled himself into his shell to sleep.
Belkas looked at the raven and said, "Welcome to the party Raven. Are you going to help me keep watch?"
The raven clocked its head at him.
Belkas tried to scratch the bird's head but jerked his fingers back just in time to avoid getting pecked.
Belkas said, "Not much company, are you?"
He then turned his full attention to the darkness below him, searching for any threat.
Holing up in the watchtower, and sealing the door, you find the place to an adequate, although not an exceptionally comfortable place to spend the night and rest up for whatever the next day will bring. Selûne is in her new phase on this evening, and thus brings no helpful light over the village. For whoever is taking watch up on the roof of the tower, little can be seen in the darkness, and all seems quiet. The evening proves to be uneventful, and when it is time for Arisa's watch, the faint hues of pre-dawn are beginning to show on the eastern horizon.
When the dawn does break, you finally get your first view of the Nightstone in the warm, crisp morning light. It's a rather small settlement, no more than a few hundred feet across from wall to wall, east to west, and a little further north to south. A river flows around the settlement, forming a moat. The village itself is contained within a wooden palisade, beyond which you see a windmill, a tall steeple, the high-pitched rooftops of several other buildings, a few small farms and an open town square in the middle of the village.
South of the village and surrounded by the river moat is a cone-shaped, flat-topped hill on which stands a stone keep enclosed by a wooden wall. The keep, which overlooks the village, has partially collapsed. A wooden bridge that once connected the keep to the village has also partially collapsed.
Scanning the village from this high vantage point, you can see ample evidence of the giants’ attack: rocks embedded in the earth, holes punched through rooftops, shattered wreckage, and a handful of dead villagers lying amongst the debris.

Osmord wakes and stands to take in the view from the tower. Holding out his arm he concentrates and the raven appears there, transported from wherever it had perched itself in the night. The tortle plucks a maggot from the birds wound and pops it into his mouth.
"Go...search the town worm, seek out signs of the goblins... show me what you see."
And with that the Raven is flying out over the town. Osmords eyes shift to a milky white as he looks through the birds eyes. [Perception : 21]
Tuning into the keen eyesight of his familiar, Osmord sees through the eyes of the raven as it flies over the village.
Osmord
As the visual link between you and your familiar is active if the bird is within 100' of you, here is what you see within that radius. You get a good overview of the western side of the village, but you don't see any goblins who are visible in this area. The building just NE of the drawbridge/watchtowers is the church where you were last night.
"Bloody 'Ells! Deh'd ya hafta' gum tha'?! Caenne jus' git a normal pidge' 'nstead??" Zyllith accent had become thicker in her outburst after seeing Osmord's macabre display. Once it was obvious the tortle couldn't see or hear her she could do nothing but shudder and make her way down to the tower's main entry as she kept a lookout for any approaching enemies. She made ready to head out and start scouting ahead of the group once more as soon as the rest were ready to leave.
Arisa puts on her armor, and spends some time sitting in quiet prayer on the roof of the tower in the morning sun, while studying the symbol on her shield. Eating some rations, she readies herself to go out, waiting for the report from the disturbing raven and Tortle wizard before leaving the tower. “No sign of giants about now. We are apparently among he first witnesses of a horrible tragedy. Hopefully, the goblins are still sleeping!” she says.
"If the Osmord and his strange bird do not see any movement, I would assume that the goblins have left for the day. I think I can see something that looks like a hole in the ground at the center of the village. I wonder if that might be where the goblins enter and leave, as they obviously did not cross the bridge last night. I would also guess that we will find any survivors holed up in the keep. So my suggestion is that we carefully take a look at the hole and then move up to the keep. We should also either release Beedo, or at least give him food and a toilet break."

Cassandra says “I see that hole you mention- we should go investigate that. I agree also with exploring the keep and the other buildings to look for survivors. “. She shoulders her leather pack, after taking out some hard tack biscuits for the goblin’s breakfast.
On Vernon's turn to watch, he studied the unicorn head, while keeping an ear peeled for any goblins approaching. He attempted to have simultaneous chats with Mielikki and Flandal Steelskin to see if they knew each other, had adverse opinions of each other, or had any other history together that would merit him hanging onto the holy symbol.
Religion check: 2 + 5 = 7 (History would be the same modifier if that applies instead, but I don't think this session was very conclusive in either case.)
On seeing the raven: Vernon isn't quite sure if that's a shudder of repulsion going up his spine, or a thrill of delight at something new. He himself was a little intimidated by the whole goblin-toe-pickling thing, so he isn't ready to ask Osmord about just how far this attraction to such things goes.
At Belkas's suggestion: "I vote we release Beedo. We don't intend to prosecute him for anything, and we aren't worried about mistakenly attacking him, so I don't see the point in restricting him any further. Then we can go check out the hole."
Worm flaps her way back to the tower and Osmord blinks twice as he comes back to himself.
“Flying makes me dizzy...Osmord should have eaten first. Worm saw many things.”
OOC: Just a small question, 100ft is how far worm can travel with my eyes, at the edge of my control we would be able to see much much further. All good here, just a note for future reference.
(Good point. That totally makes sense. So, with that in mind...)
Osmord
Through the eyes of your raven, you saw what looks like two big canine creatures, possibly large wolves, in the NE corner of the square, and a pair of goblins running around in the yard behind a house a bit further to the NE of the square. You also saw two humanoids, (not sure what kind,) running around in a field in the southeast part of the village.
Arisa says “I agree with letting the goblin go, if he promises to behave, and then let’s head to the square.” She heads out towards the temple to check on the goblin.

”Two stinking Goblins. Running around a back yard... tasty treats for me.” The. He points to the south east corner of the village.
