Arisa shyly speaks up to the group at the table in the tavern, her voice hesitant and clearly she’s uncomfortable with the question.. . “, I did some inventory, and I won’t quite have enough gold for what the smiths would want for a suit of half plate armor. It would help us in our shared goals if I was a little harder to hurt.. I hate to ask, but I was wondering if I could borrow some gold from you- you know you can trust me to pay it back”.
"Aye, daennea worry 'bout it 'till tha morn'. We be sure ta' get everyone sorted rioght then! Fer now we should be restin' an' drinkin' tha' road weary away, yea?" Zyllith winked playfully at Arisa before rejoining the ongoing singing, dancing, and whatever general revelry was happening around them.
The fun and merriment continues inside the Blue Ewe with a variety of musical entertainment and more poets, but no one presents anything nearly as captivating as Elion's epic. He's quite pleased with himself, and he continues to party in the common room with Shalvus and some of his other poet friends long after the rest of you have retired to your room.
Sleep comes easily, and in a few hours, morning dawns over the City of Splendors and the streets of Waterdeep come to life as another day begins.
Zyllith cheerfully wakes up nice and early - for her anyway, it was likely still much later then most everyone else given last night's revelry. She was eager to head out soon and begin the day's activities. "Rioght, we got lot o' business ta' take care of, an' we might try takin' care o' it all today. Which mean we 'aught start wit' tha' most important business we got: Shoppin'! So who's commin' wit' ta' tha' market?"
“I have no need for weapons or armor,” says Siobhan in a quiet voice. ”But I would visit an herbalist for supplies to brew potions of healing and antitoxin as time allows and perhaps some readymade, if the quality is good.”
Heading outside after a hearty breakfast at the Blue Ewe, youstep out onto the road, right at the intersection where the Waterdeep Way meets The High Road. The air is filled with the smells of fresh food and pastries, and you see many people in the streets, going about their morning business, ducking in and out of shops, and visiting the various street food vendors.
You remember that the Dancing Cyclops Quarter lies just a short walk from here, and in addition to a number of shops, including Turin's Sundries,Sugarhill's Sweets and Candies and Fanny's Farm Fresh Foods, this is also where Riatur's Weaponry is located, where Vernon bough his hammer, which is, sadly, now damaged from the slime. On your way into town yesterday afternoon, you also remember passing two other weapons shops just north of here on the High Road, The Riven Shield, and Saern's Fine Swords, which was housed in a building that looks like a miniature castle.
Since Arisa has spent time here in Waterdeep, she can roll an intelligence check to see if she knows of any other armories or any herbalists in the city. Or you can just pick a direction and wander, and see what you find.
"I'd like to revisit Riatur's. A plain functional hammer is better than a fancy damaged hammer, but there might be some resale value left. I'd also like to pick up some climbing gear and possibly better armor." Vernon is sad to see the hammer go, but knows it won't be pulling its weight in this state.
Belkas wakes up early and goes down below to look for breakfast while the others finish sleeping. He is glad not to have the pounding headache that usually accompanies waking up above a tavern.
The warlock takes a seat near a window and watches the slow hustle of early morning urban life. There is a smell of hops, malt, and fresh wildflowers a young man is placing in clay jugs on each table. His fear from the night before evaporating in the morning sun.
After the others come down and head outside, Belkas adds his plans for the day. "My priority is to find an armorer and a jeweler. I have no idea if any shop is better than another. We will see if I have any money left over after that."
Arisa doesn’t have much idea on where to shop. (Rolled a 5). “I’ll go to Riatur’s with you, Vernon, I don’t remember what they had for armor, but it’s a good place to start. And if not, maybe Saerin ‘s would have something or know where to look.” Arisa smiles.
It's but a short walk down the street to Riatur's Weaponry. Entering the shop, you see once again that it is filled with a variety of secondhand weapons. The same tall man with bright red hair greets you.
"Welcome to Riatur's, where we sell the Best Bows in the... Wait a minute... I recognize you folks! Back again, are ye? What be you looking for this time?"
“I’m looking for a suit of Half-Plate, that will fit me. I’ve got this scale mail to trade in, and some gold. If you don’t have anything like that if you could let me know who might, I would appreciate it” . She looks around the shop for anything suitable.
Riatur responds, "Ah don't have any suits of half plate in here at the moment, I mostly deal in weapons and the occasional shields that come in. Sometimes I have used armor, but it's early anything upper end. For that class, yer gonna want to visit The Halls of Hilmer, near the end of Julthoon Street in the Castle Ward. The smiths there do excellent work, and they even do custom work if you want."
"Now, let's see this hammer of yours... "
"Whoa there... looks like you had some real trouble, there lad. Good thing you didn't get your skull corroded like what happened to this hammer. Same, that was a good piece. I can't repair it here, but I definitely got replacement hammers. Got a couple in this week. Nothin' fancy, but they'll bash a goblin skull as good as any for 15 gp."
"Course, that was a special piece, and if ya don't think you'll run into any more oozes, then you could get it repaired. You'd want to visit a smith to get it back into shape; I'd go to the Busy Hammer, just around the corner. Then, if you wanted some of them nice pattens restored, make it look like it used to, then I'd say bring it to Ovina. She's a smith down in the South Ward. Does excellent work and impeccable engravings. I think she could restore this thing back to what it looked like before... maybe even better. And, she might even know the history of the hammer better than I do."
Vernon looks hopeful. "This hammer and I also fought giants together, so I'd prefer to repair it. Thank you for the tips!" He'll head to the Busy Hammer when the group moves out.
Arisa says “shall we stick together or divide up? I’m so used to traveling with you all it hardly occurs to me that I could go exploring the markets on my own! I also would like to see the clerics of my order while here, I should report on my activities and our concerns.”
Arisa decides to split off from the group, heading to the clerics of Mystra at the house of wonder first, to get their advice and report on her findings, and then seek some suitable armor. “I’ll meet up with you back at the Blue Ewe.. I want to go to the House of Wonder and then see about that armorer”.

“Thank you” Arisa says and smiles. She enjoys the rest of the evening but doesn’t stay up too late.

"I'm looking to repair or replace this warhammer. We ran into some black oozes and they degraded its capabilities." Vernon holds it up.
