Sunshine absolutely hates that Hulil is coming with her little group, but she bites her tongue and settles for hiding her expression under her scarf. As they all step inside the tavern, she gives a little wiggle and makes a happy noise at being warm again. Then she bounces over to Arl, resting her elbows on the counter as she smiles at him. "Afternoon! We're lookin' for Irven Liel. Need to chat with him right quick, and rumor has it, he's stayin' here," she says. "Mind pointin' us in the right direction?"
Irven? Arl replies. He's up in his room with his family, I think. Give me a second, I'll go fetch him.
Arl disappears up the stairs and in two minutes returns with a human man in his forties with a pleasant, round face and short hair. He approaches the group. Good day, Master Bortock said you wanted... oh, Mistress Lutan, he says as he spots Hulil. I'm surprised to see you here. Have you changed your mind about the move?
Hulil scowls and looks at the ground, but doesn't answer him. Arl resumes his spot at the bar, leaving you to your conversation.
Sunshine waves the man over to a table, sinking into a chair. She waits until they're all settled before leaning forward, elbows on the table and chin in her hands. "Hi. I'm Sunshine. Ya don't know me, but I got news for ya. And, itain't-" She stops, chewing on her lip a minute before sighing. She's really not so good with words. Well, comforting words. "Look, I'm just gonna be honest here. This woman-" She jerks a thumb toward Hulil. "Sold ya a little vial of somethin'. Somethin' dangerous, so tell me ya haven't opened it or anythin'."
"It has something to do with a vial of some strange substance. It seems that whomever has been touching it comes down with the sickness. As for how she got it I am not entirely sure but it seems like she either found it or perhaps had someone else acquire it for her." Nalla explains, not going into exact details as they may still need Hulil.
Sunshine, Irven returns a few minutes later carrying something wrapped in a thick woollen cloak. He places it on one of the tables as though it was a live snake, and backs away. This... this is the vial. I... what should I do? What's going to happen? My... family, we all touched it. We thought... we were told it was harmless!
"They are a blue in color. We have not found all of them but others of the group have gone to look into someone that may have another." Nalla tells him as she looks to the others once more to see if they have anything to say.
Sunshine drums her nails on the table, her tail flicking in the air behind her. "Well, uh, pretty sure that's how our friend Hulil got lookin' like this," she says, flicking a few fingers at the dwarf. "Somethin' called frigid woe or whatever."
Her eyes narrow for a moment, studying him. "Gonna go ahead and assume ya opened it, huh?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elro looks very unhappy. Well, we should go and find the rest of your group, and this vial that is killing people. Thank you for coming to me.
Elro will ask you to lead him to the Jolly Dwarf, and you all arrive there in the middle of the conversation with Irven. So you are reunited. :)
I did open it. Elro, Irven looks a little relieved to see the wood elf as he enters the tavern, the rest of the party following behind him. These folk have been telling me...
They are working for me, Irven, Elro replies. Is... that it? He points to the bundle of cloth on the table.
Yes, Irven replies. They said... Elro, we've all touched it. Fenton, and the girls. We thought it harmless.
The room goes silent for a moment. Then Elro responds. Come, bring your family. I can ask the priests to take a look at you, to see if you have the same malady as Urgon.
And you come too, Ms. Lutan. We'll deal with your actions later.
Seeing herself outnumbered, Hulil scowls unhappily and says to you all before leaving: Remember, we have a deal.
Irven disappears upstairs again, and returns with a human man and two young tiefling children. Without another word, they, Hulil and Elro leave the inn's common room. Arl Bortock returns to his place behind the bar, and asks: You folks know of a cure for... whatever this is?
"Not as of yet..."Verdan responds, "That is what we are trying to find, and we're trying to figure out our next steps. Hulil recommended that someone in Shadycreek run might have some information. Some of us think that would be a bit of waste of time, not sure how much we can trust any information coming from that town. Eiselcross itself may be the only real source of truth regarding this disease."
Eiselcross or Shadycreek Run, that's a hell of a choice, Arl says grimacing. All kinds of weird things come out of Eiselcross. All kinds of weird things end up in Shadycreek. Yeah, that's a tough one.
Nalla can only nod as she moves to sit down, setting her staff to the side, running her hand over the top of her head. "This seems to be more then we first signed up for..."
Sunshine lets out a little huff and leans her elbows onto the table again. "Eiselcross is s'posed to be really freakin' cold," she all but whines. "I'd rather take my chances in Shadycreek. My kinda people there, anyway."
"I'm telling you, the answer is north. Shadycreek Run is full of lots of people who wouldn't know a thing about this sort of thing, they'll just take it and try to find a bidder." Telias says with the first decent bit of scorn you've heard in his voice.

Gronk in Bastion, Kingdom of Medrin Elixisysin Talaveroth (Team 2) Uthal in Lost Continent of Theviranne
A few minutes later, a member of the local militia comes round with a message; Elro is grateful for your assistance, and would like to ask you to stay in the Jolly Dwarf inn for the night so that he can complete his investigations and talk to you tomorrow morning. The militia member also collects the blue vial that Irven had, and asks for any others that you have found.
(Do you give him the one you recovered from Hulil?)
You spend the night in the inn. You wake in the morning having completed a long rest, and have all reached Level Two.
The following morning you gather in the common room and Elro speaks:
Thank you for a fine job. I am grateful, and would like to pay you, as agreed, 100 gold pieces. (That's 20 gold each, you can add to your equipment on your character sheet.)
I have some references to the Frigid Woe. The books didn't describe the symptoms, but the described the blue powder you showed me in the vials, and they give the name of the condition. It's been seen, a few times over the centuries, always originating in Eiselcross. And there is a known cure. At this, Hulil's eyes widen, but Elro ignores her. The books describe a milky liquid stored in gold vials, and often found in the same place as the vials of blue powder. I don't see any reason to think you would find such a thing in Shadycreek Run. I'm afraid your best course of action would be to retrace Urgon's footsteps: to head to Eiselcross, and look for the place where he found the blue powder vials.
I realise that this is much more than my original request. Again, I would be happy to compensate you: 200 gold if you can find a cure and return it. I'm afraid... Irven and his family are all showing signs of the Frigid Woe, and of course Mistress Lutan and her sister have more advanced cases. Without your aid, they will all die.
Are you willing to take this task on?

Mr. Fists follows the group as well.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

The... vial? The blue vial? I... dangerous? How so? Irven looks extremely alarmed about this.
I didn't know, alright? Hulil adds, scowliing some more. But, yeah. It's given me this, and she points to her face and the blue veins that cross it.
Irven bolts towards the stairs, and Hulil calls after him: Don't touch it.
"It has something to do with a vial of some strange substance. It seems that whomever has been touching it comes down with the sickness. I... see, Elro looks more worried than before. Have you tracked down these vials? Are they a risk to the villagers? What do they look like?

Verdan replies, "As far as we understand, as long as you didn't open it... you should be alright."
