Telias, among the books you find texts on the geography and history of the northern part of Wildemount, written primarily by Empire authors. There are also some novels. Make an Investigation check as you leaf through them.
Telias, you read a little about the history of Uthodurn and the arrival of the elves of Molaesmyr, but you don't find anything relevant to the matter at hand.
Nalla says nothing but does nod in agreement with what the hard says as she focuses on her ritual. Once it finishes she opens her eyes and looks towards the small house.
"Thanks, I'm quite partial to the name myself," she says with a wink at Mila. But Sunshine doesn't enter the little house yet. She kind of figures the others will have the investigation bit down; she's not even entirely sure what she's supposed to be looking for. So she turns so she can keep an eye on the entire group while still half-facing Mila. "Why do you need to stay here?" she asks, sticking her hands into her pockets and rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. "Are you guarding the place? Does it need to be guarded?"
Nalla, looking from the outside of the house, you do not see any evidence of magical items within your view, nor do you sense any items that you cannot see.
Sunshine, Mila shrugs: We don't know much about what happened to old Urgon. Elro's worried, so he wants everyone kept out. Except you folks, of course.
For those inside the cabin, you can make an Investigation check, but you cannot do a general search of everything. You need to pick a specific element from the description (as Telias did for the books) and roll a check to inspect it.
Verdan, the creature seems to have had white fur, and was probably considerably larger than any of you. You would guess that it came from a cold climate, but you don't recognise it. (I took the d20 for a Nature roll, and your modifier is the same. :)
Trying to keep her demeanor friendly, Sunshine nods. "That all makes sense, don't it?" She shifts back and watches the others enter the house. Almost time to wrap it up out here, she thinks. But first.
"What can you tell me about Urgon and this thing that might've killed him?" Sun asks Mila. "Anything you might've noticed out of the ordinary about him - or really anything in this town?"
Insight, just to make sure Mila's on the up and up: 9
Not a thing, Mila replies. About what killed him, is what I mean. Weird blue veins. He said he thought it wasn't contagious, but lots of folks still steered clear of him. Urgon himself was... I dunno really. Never talked to him much. He wasn't around, truth to tell. Off on his expeditions or what have you. Came back two months ago and almost immediately, weird blue veins and he started walking really slow. Like he was much much older you know. Creepy.
Mr Fists, as you are searching on, in and under the bed, you notice two things. First is that there's a pile of stuff stored under the bed: a silvered maul; a suit of splint armor sized for a dwarf; bulky, fur-lined clothing sized for a dwarf; a grappling hook; and a lantern, hooded.
The second thing is tracks on the floor; traces of mud here and there. Turning around, you notice that they go to several places through the cabin. You (or someone else) can make a Survival check to discern more.
Continuing to admire the animal head on the wall, Verdan waxes poetic to no one in particular, "Yes, yes... a fine specimen. A snargulf, if I'm not mistaken? Unlikely related to the dwarf's death, as there would have likely been slightly more viscera." Nodding to the sharp teeth. "And all in all it would've been a quick affair, I'm fairly sure."
"Yeah, that definitely does sound more than a little creepy," Sun agrees with a quiet laugh. Then she nods and gives Mila a little wink. "Thanks for answerin' my questions, sweetheart. Greatly appreciated. But I better catch up to the others now and make sure they ain't gettin' into too much trouble." With a jaunty little wave, Sunshine goes to join the others inside the small house.
"Alright, folks," she says as she enters. "We find anythin' good in here?"
"Nothing magical that I can see. It appears that if he were to of had any such items he kept them somewhere else or they were taken." Nalla says as she steps into the house and gives it a quick once over.
"If there is nothing here then it seems the other suffering from the sickness is who we see next."
Telias, you see that the tracks are recent (the last couple of days perhaps), they are not the same as the tracks that seemed to belong to the occupant of the cabin, and you see them lead outside. You can follow them if you wish.

Mr. Fists nods as well as he takes into the decor.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

Verdan nudges Nalla as he enters, "Just yell if I'm doin' something stupid, eh?"
He takes in the environment, but the beast above the mantle particularly draws his attention. He moves to take a closer look.

Sunshine, you find Mila a bit hard to read.
Mr. Fists is going to look on the bed or under the bed.
