Mr. Fists and Nalla get some hits in, but the dwarf is still looking healthy, and angry.
Sunshine, you wake; you are prone but otherwise feel as right as rain. Round Two Wolf 1 (asleep) Verdan Wolf 2 (dead) Sunshine Dwarf Mr. Fists, Telias and Nalla
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With a long stream of cursing in Infernal, Sunshine pushes herself back up to her feet and stays where she is, swaying slightly. "C'mon, lady, seriously?" She twirls her daggers around in her hands before slashing at the dwarf.
Slash! You hit something important, or at least very painful. The dwarf curses again, staggers back, looks at you with furious eyes, and then she scowls and lowers her mace.
Yeah. Seriously. And how exactly are you folks going to help me? I don't need... she gasps, and it's not clear whether the pain is caused by her recent wounds or by the blue veins that seem to criss-cross much of her body. Damn. Well. I see I'm not getting rid of you without talking. So talk. She sways, and steadies herself on the back of a chair, but does not sit.
You are out of combat, standing in or just outside the log cabin of this clearly very ill dwarf, with one sleeping and one dead wolf on the floor.
Nalla steps away from the sleeping wolf, moving so that she is not directly next to the dwarf as well. "We are looking into what it is that you suffer from. It has already killed Urgon."
Sunshine takes a few deft steps back, keeping her daggers at the ready. But she seems to relax a bit. Wiping a bit of blood from the corner of her mouth, she tries to smile. "I said we just had a few questions, didn't I? How long have you been like this?" Sunshine waves a hand at her. "Blue veined, I mean, not the surliest being I've ever met."
First things first, idiots. Get in and close the door behind you, all of you. Once you are all inside, she sits down on a chair right next to the fire.
Now, who in the hells are you? And who sent you? It better not be that busybody Elro Aldataur.
Attempting to diffuse the situation to the best of his ability, Verdan speaks up, "As we have no real reason to deceive you, we were sent by Erlo, though none of us know him particularly well. He was concerned about the sickness that seems to be spreading through the town, and didn't trust the glassblades to have the... tact... needed to investigate." He pauses for a moment, attempting to gauge the reaction. "Now, we have answered some of your questions, I think it would be fair for you to answer a few of ours. The two that come to my mind are, what were you doing in Urgon's cabin and if you could tell us anything about what you were doing before you contracted this illness."
Nalla will take this time to dust herself off, leaning back against the wall of the cabin. She seems to calm now that the wolf that had attacked her was no longer moving.
The dwarf, who you know from Elro is named Tulgi, spits into the fire. I was looking for a cure, you sodding fools. Yeah, whatever killed Ulgon, I got it too. And I don't want to go the same way. So why shouldn't I look in his cabin for a cure, or something that might lead me there. And what exactly are you doing to make yourselves useful eh? Breaking into my home, killing my dogs?
Verdan, as you're taking the lead on talking to Tulgi, make a Persuasion check. If anyone would like to say or do something in support, you can roll with advantage.
Mr Fists begins a simple ritual on the dead wolf, which resembles nothing any of you have seen before but seems respectful.
I was looking for a cure, like I said, Tulgi replies. I don't got much hope, but... what else is there to do, right? She waves a hand, and you see the prominent blue veins on them. Don't know how long I got. Might be weeks, might be hours. I thought maybe this crap had something to do with... the things. The artifacts. The ones that Urgon brought back from his last expedition.
She looks at Nalla, and spits again. That's for your 'authority'. If you've any sense, you'll ignore whatever that jackass Elro says. He's about as much use as that dead dog over there.
"The artifacts?" Sunshine sort of perks up at this. She's taken a few steps back from the dwarf, tugging her scarf back up over her mouth. But now she can't help but lean forward a bit. "What kinda artifacts we talking here?"
Listening and watching the others responds, Verdan speak up again, "We have no particular affinity for Erlo, being newcomers to the town. He did appear to have the best interest of those living here in mind, though. Any information you can give us about what you were doing before you knew you came down with this affliction would benefit our investigation greatly. Anywhere you went, anything you touched, ate, or inhaled? Any minor detail that sticks out could be a key."
Those of you paying attention to the conversation will see Tulgi's hand reach almost instinctively for the hilt of a nice-looking dagger tucked under her shirt, though she hesitates and then puts her hand down again.
I got the damned things for Hulil, all right? She's my sister. We worked together, getting things for our employers. Urgon came back with a load of interesting things, see? I knew they'd be interesting. He sold them here in the village, at Pelc's Curiosities, and that's when I nabbed them. That was weeks ago though.

"Well you refused to talk and then attacked us. We were given full authority to solve this." Nalla says calmly.

Mr. Fists nods and caws out," Sorry." He looks to the rest of the group "We go talk to jackass Elro, and then go find artifacts?"
