As others seem to be following, Jaspil would continue on, following the course of the road but trying to keep a little ways off of it. He is ready to try to hide at any sign of something approaching.

Some just stand at the ready, with strange looking swords drawn and a quite rather bored expression on there faces. Others can be seen dragging off some sort of sack perhaps into a ditch off in the woods a bit. Then there was the archers. With mounted crossbows and Ballistas on the guard towers on either side of the main entrance. The people of River Root looked like they were preparing for a battle. Suddenly there is a change in the guards demeanor. One visibly tenses and the mounted Crossbows swivel in your direction. A guard steps out from his post about 10 feet and addresses the party "OI, YOU OUT THERE! COME INTO THE LIGHT OR YOU WILL BE SHOT. YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE AND ONE WARNING! IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY YOU WILL BE SUSPECTED PLAGUED AND KILLED ON CONTACT!"

"I, will be the judge of that" He then looked at Tempest then back at Golmeg. "You two are clear... approach the gate and follow instructions or you know what will happen." He Shoved past those two and now looked at Jaspil, He stared at the cuts on his face and grunted "THIS ONE COMES WITH ME, AS FOR THE GIRL, FOLLOW THE OTHERS, LEST YOU HAVE OTHER BUSINESS!" He now stared at Jaspil. still scanning that cut.

The Guard turns and starts to walk off to a side entrance of the wall, glancing behind himself to make sure Jaspil was following him. Once they got close to the entrance he stopped and faced Jaspil. "All Weapons get put in that chest, You can pick them up when you LEAVE. You can only take one item with you, including your clothing and coin pouch. Otherwise put all your belongings in the chest." He then hands Jaspil a key for the chest "Hold on to it well, its the only one and you cant get another. You can meet up with your Friends after you come with me and we have a... Chat"

Once asked to put his belongings in the chest, he takes a just moment to put in his two daggers and all his darts. He then removes his backpack and puts it in the chest as well, along with all its contents. For just a moment he pauses, then decides to quickly grab the medallion and slip it into the chest as well without letting the guard get a look at it.
"There," he says, as he now just has his clothes - including the cloak he is wearing, a money pouch, and a component pouch. "I can keep this one item. right? Just a little pouch of odds and ends."

The Guard doesn't Notice -or at least doesn't seem to- the medallion and seems to ponder the Pouch. "Interesting choice..." He takes the pouch from Jaspil and looks it over, verifying that it was just a pouch of odds and ends then hands it back to him. The Guard Ushers Jaspil into a room that is about 15" by 25", it looks to be a repurposed storage room where different oddities and specimens line old storage shelves. It's fairly dark in the room, only lit by a few spares candles. The Goliath pulls out an old bar stool up to a table and points to it. "Sit, There, Now." He sits at the opposite side of the table. "Now tell me... How did you get that ghastly cut?"
