Smiling that broad disarming smile that won so many hearts and fooled some many small towns, Onu turns to the grateful miners and Don Jon. 'My friends, it is we who are in your debt, for you have given us the opportunity to explore the darkest heart of what may come to those who stray... ' the monk continues to chatter along in that vein, capturing the miners attention while giving KD their old signal to sweep behind them and check the marks for any signs of weakness.
Hamish rubs his forearm absentmindedly while moving towards the group. "Do you all think we should take another look through the mine to make sure that there isn't anything left in here that can hurt anyone? Looks like we may have gotten all of the wererats but there may be something else too. There was another entrance in the back that we didn't get to."
KD reacts with raised eyebrows, and accepts the miner's offering. She smiles at Don Jon's bristling, and exchanges a look with Onu, satisfied.
"This is very generous. We're not used to such... gratitude for our work. Usually we're not doing this sort of thing, but it's starting to become familiar. I may be back here soon to see about the kinds of ore you mine here. I have... lots of ideas,"she says, absentmindedly rubbing Hal's head. "It is good to clean out a place. This was foul."
She finds Onu later and shares her surprise that this actually was easier than their usual capers, and it came with a lack of having to leave town afterward. She bristles at any suggestion that they're becoming heroes, and she allows that she did scope out what the miners might be hiding. She thinks they were being sincere, and their weaknesses were laid bare.
When Hal comes to try to share his discovery with KD, she alerts the rest of the group and she follows him to see what was watching him. (Rolls needed?)
None of the miners show signs of marks, setting that concern to rest.
Fae quietly rises to her feet and slips aside as gently as she could without disturbing the slumbering Nova against her leg. The druid flops over like a ragdoll. Whistling snores resume after a bit of lip smacking. After pausing to confirm Nova was barely bothered, Fae would continue towards the exit. "I'll oversee the burning of the bodies." Pulling her hood up, the wizard steps outside with the head miner.
Hal confirms what Hamish suggested, indicating that there very well could be something lurking out that way. Revisiting the map with one of the miners, the route to that area gave a clear path to it.

KD had wanted to work with Fae and Nova to see about curing Hamish but Hal had keyed her into the potential remaining threat. She lets Hal scout ahead but not too far.

Hal’s sent out with Onu. The pair creep down the tunnels ahead of the others, the dim light proving to have it’s challenges in this dank space. Hal directs the monk to the path that shows the most fresh signs of passage. There’s tiny rock crumbles and evidence of something crawling around. Onu’s efforts to remain quiet are thwarted by one of these stubborn pebbles. Not lifting his foot high enough for his step, he kicks a rock, sending it tumbling forward and echoing down the tunnel ahead. Hal and Onu pause, holding his breath for a moment. Eerie silence resumes.

Onu looks up. A cream coloured creature with rows of legs hovers on the ceiling above his head with putrid rotting visceral dripping from it’s pincers and onto him. Its tentacles probing the air around him. It chatters. Gurgles. Then lashes out!

Hamish will follow about 10 ft behind Onu. He will cast Guidance on himself to help him move more quietly. 21 plus 1 for guidance. It may say manipulated dice roll because I added the d4 wrong the first time.
Hamish will cast Eyes of the Grave up to 2 times as they get closer to their destination if they don't "see" anything. If they make it all the way to the tunnel entrance, he will cast it again.

Hal, who cannot be surprised (steel defender vigilant trait), is already trying to warn Onu about the threat from above. He also tries to place himself in front of any blow, and watches the poison spray. He looks up, wipes the spray off his face with no effect (immune to poison), and hisses, but it sounds like more of a roar.

Hamish turns the corner and witnesses the whole event. He recognizes the beast hovering over Onu, a carrion crawler. Hal too stood prepared, ready to swat away any attempt the creature made against the nimble monk that he could not dodge himself.

KD raises her gauntlet and fires a bolt she’d retrieved from a dead wererat at the carrion crawler. Hal tries to reach up and grab a tentacle, then another, and tie them together violently in an angry rend.
KD's bolt strikes true, piercing the many legged beast somewhere in it's core, causing it's internal fluids to begin leaking from it's position up above.
Hal makes a valiant attempt at trying to grasp at the creature to tie him up and rend, however the little monkey comes up just short, unable to grab hold this time.
