KD surveys the field with the bipedal combatants down, nods, and turns back to the angry plant. She levels a fire bolt at it to try to incinerate the tree.

Hal also moves to he nearest vine to rend it as best as his fearsome monkey teeth can do.

A barage of attacks are unleashed from the group, prioritizing the vines and tree mass around them. Hansel opens up with some thoroughly healing hands against Onu's flesh. Meanwhile his spiritually spanking continues, successfully leaving a red mark against the bark.

Xenophon comes in with an accurate mauling in Fae's defense. However, upon expecting a splintering impact, he comes to realize bludgeoning has no effect on the tree.

Subsequently, Onu's pierce with his rapier slices the target clean, whereas the slap of his hand has no effects.

Hammish tolls the bell of death in the background and his scales ram into the wood with judgement.

KD fuels the raging fire with a potshot of her own and Hal rends at the thick roots nearby.

Released of the firey grips of the vine, Fae catches her breath and lashes out in retaliation. Battered and burned, she fuels her flame with the deepest emotions of trauma and rage.

Continuing to burn from the inside out, the flaming tree writhes once more, shuddering the ground and splitting it deeper. While two vines were successfully cut down by the group, three more lash out from the flames. Another tries to reclaim Fae

Auric:

Having used almost all of his arcane firepower on this tree, Auric backs off a bit and aims carefully with an arcane gesture, shooting a ray of fire at the main bull of the flaming tree.

Fire Bolt:  Attack: 12 Damage: 1

KD steps in front of Fae to provide her with some cover, and again levels a fire bolt at the tree.

Hal continues to rend the vines and roots.

He also tries again to keep others safe with his reaction.

Hansel manages to skooch his touche away from the grasping vine, but yelps in dismay as he sees another vine lash at Hamish. 

(If Hamish doesn't need help): Saving his magical stamina for healing, Hansel instead dances around in suggestively lude and provocative ways, in attempt to tempt the vine to attack him instead of the others. Action:Dodge but staying within range of the vines. Performance: 6 if it does anything to lure more vines toward Hansel.

(If Hamish got grabbed and pulled in...) Hansel rushes over to attempt to drag Hamish back from the man-eating horror, hoping that they will soon be able to escape this little shop...
Action:STR check to drag Hamish back out of the fire and/or break the tree's grasp: 6. OR Action:Help if Hamish is doing the resisting.

Onu spins his silvered blade with a flourish and plunges into the fray, lopping and kicking at the vines as they shoot forth.

Auric’s magical exhaustion was starting to show. His flaming bolt peters out to more of a mini spit fire which just gets lost in the flames. However his fire bolt wasn’t the only one to get lost to the flames. KD’s did too.

Hal finds purchase on some roots, rending at the charbroiled bark.

Fire dances in the reflection on the surface of Onu’s blade as he slices a thrashing vine clean from it’s source. While he successfully swats another, it has no effect.

Xenophon, stubborn and bold, smashes his hammer down once again. This time he does so with such natural perfection, he slams a knot in the branch causing it to blow and splinter apart.

Hamish is struck by the vine and feels his skin sear from the heat and flame.  He screams as he is being pulled into the fire.  He struggles to grab onto something and fight back against the vine.  He is weak and panicking.  Str check 11 plus bless 1.  As a bonus, his magical scales will swing through and swipe at the vine. Attack: 11 Damage: 12

Hamish panics. He stumbles and flails, thrashing about like a kid in the kiddy pond, but with more sparks and kissed by flame. Even his magical scales swipe in mimicked panic, missing it’s target.

Hansel’s hips don’t lie. He was prepared to unleash his beauty wiles that would be strong enough to seduce solid wood. However his performance was cut short when he’d leap into action to save the damsel in distress. From one cleric to another, Hansel scoops up and bridal carries Hamish to safety. This tender action is reflected in the tender spanking of his spiritual weapon. It wasn’t enough to leave a mark.

With others also coming to her rescue, Fae had been released from the vine attacking her. She’d stand clear of what flames she could while manifesting a bolt. She fires it, sending it streaking towards unburning portions of the tree. Her chest heaves from expending so much of her magic.

Another shudder. The ground splits deeper, threatening to swallow anything close. Bodies tumble into the heated crevices. Then, another throng of thrashing burning vines. The tendrils reach out, feeling for their next prey to wrap and burn.

Onu stands at the fore, his silvered blade glimmering in the firelight as he slashes and strikes out at the grasping vines, desperate to defend his comrades and bring this nightmare to en end.

Auric:

Having moved away somewhat, Auric moves back in, but this time to the side of the combat, so he can see all three new vines from the side.  He unleashes a broadside of gold dragon fire breath on the vines grasping for his comrades!

Gold Dragon Fire Breath 15’ Cone:  2 fire damage, DC 12 reflex save for half.

Hammy feels himself being ripped from the vine pulling him into the fire.  He is having a hard time processing what just happened and where he is.  The first thing he notices as he wills himself back into the moment is how good his savior smells.  It momentarily makes him self-conscious about his own odor.  He hears the commotion coming from the area around him and his mind is fully back in the action.

Hamish points at the new vine that lashed out at Hansel and casts Toll the Dead Wis 14 save or 1

The magical scales loop around and swipe at the same vine.  Attack: 14 Damage: 7 plus 4 for bless

If possible, and if close enough, Hal will use his reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack on KD. 

If not, she casts shield, blocking.

She fires another [/spell]fire bolt[/spell]

Onu misses with his blade and solidly spanks the knotty wood with his fleshy palm, unfortunately still to no effect.

KD's shield activates, protecting her from the fiery grips of the flaming tree. Hal is feet away, rending the bark off the limb of the tree that aimed for his creator.

So close to the flames the smoke seems to affect Xenophon's aim as he swings wide of his target.

Auric roars back at the firey tree, his breath licking at the exposed root tips, adding to the bigger picture.

Unrelenting, sweat drips as Fae further feeds the flames.

Spiritual weapons then come together, forcing themselves upon the heated trunk in one last stroke.

Crackling flames and spitting embers reach their peak in intensity, roaring up into the evening sky.

Hansel with Hamish in hand doesn't have to look back to know the epic eruption happening behind him marks the end of the tree's lashings.

Hansel places Hamish gently back on the ground, and then looks skyward to view the fireworks display. The glowing sparks and embers rise like reverse-falling stars, like a backwards meteor shower, and Hansel ponders how it is that such a beautiful display can arise from something so horrid as the demonic tree. Sune's hand truly reaches into even the dark corners of the world...

Stumbling back and sitting down, Auric attempts to catch his breath, his magical reserves completely spent.
