Garazar makes a satisfied sounding grunt, which apparently is signifying he accepts the offer, and saves his remaining energy for dealing with the plate of sausages.
Herbert: begins to eat. "Ah yes, thank you Gromedark. Aspherer. Aspherer. Aspherer." He says it multiple times, as if committing it to memory. "So how many days travel are we talking about here?"
When Clovis' attention is elsewhere he leans towards Orin and whispers "25 gold...to deliver a potion...feels like there's more to this"
((I scanned the thread twice and missed the name both times!))
Flickwit’s responds, his voice now more tense, “I assure you, there is nothing to worry about, it is just a simple delivery, I’m paying you so much because not many people will do this job.”
Osborn raises his hands, fingers splayed in mock surrender "I'm convinced sir, and we have a deal. These..."he pushes the potions towards Garazar, Gromedark and Orin "...are probably best served in the hands of the more, erm, physically accomplished of my colleagues. We thank you for your business, and shall report back once the deed is complete"
He wipes his mouth with a handkerchief and looks around the newly-assembled team as he gestures towards the exit; "Shall we?"
[OOC: Do we want to nose around town briefly to see if anyone else has information we can use or perhaps other jobs we can take care of while we're in there? Of course, charisma isn't my thing, so I'm not volunteering to be the "face man". Er, half-orc. Whatever.]
Herbert: as we wander about Breibury I am going to ask to borrow one of the healing potions to cast identify over. Herbert would be on the look out for any book shops and the like, to see if he can pick up anything interesting about the local history and if he's really lucky find a scroll or a spellbook to price up, as unlikely as it is.
Osborn looks blankly at the potion - the whole point of their endeavour - as Gromedark indicates that he had gone back to get it.
"You, my impressively massive friend, just proved yourself the smartest one here; stick close to me please" He addresses the rest of the group almost apologetically "I have no errands to run, and thanks to Gromedark here we now have directions and our payload; I am ready to head off"
(Herbet) Passing around these docks and town, you don't see any shops that would contain magical goods, except for Flickwit's shop, current displaying a "CLOSED" sign hanging from the door. Although a normal book store does catch your eye, a small wooden store, with a sign displaying the name, written in fancy elvish script, "The Black Nest", with a smaller more crudely written sight just below it, displaying the same name in common script.

Flickwit hands you a silver box painted black. Flickwit says "Inside here is the potion."
(Everyone)
The town is directly next to the forest, with guards waiting at the most commonly used path into the woods.
Herbert: Loosens the satchel on his left, looks inside and checks his coin, then shakes his head. Making a mental note of where The Black Nest is to return later with more gold. He looks around the newly assembled party taking in the hulking forms of the bugbear and half-orc flanked by two halflings and smiles. "I think we are going to have some interesting times ahead my new friends. As inviting as the black nest looks, I have no gold. Shall we start our search for this Aspherer chap? Get me some gold and then return to buy some books? I believe the nearest exit to those blasted woods is this way." And he starts walking towards the exit currently flanked by guards.
"The sooner we start, the sooner we are done," says Garazar, adjusting his armor and making sure his weapons are ready for use. "This is probably a bad idea, but the pay is too good to pass up."
The guard let you pass , inside the woods, almost instantly everything is overgrown by vines and shrubs, sometimes catching your feet on a vine and almost tripping, large trees with vines hanging from them block out most light from getting into the forest (you are now in dim light). The earthy smell of plants is filled in the forest, with brief abrupt interruptions of an disgusting, corpse like smells. The sounds of loud flies buzzing fill the air almost constantly.
Ducking under a very low hanging vine Orin asks "Anyone know what kind of animals live deeper in this forest? I've never gone more than few hundred yards in. Last time was for a group in Lewich, they wanted me to kill the wolves taking off with some of their sheep. I don't usually find dens that close to a town, unless something is keeping them from going deeper."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Herbert: let's Gromedark get ahead, surprised at just how stealthy he is for something so large. Herbert walks slowly and deliberately, using the ends of his staff to poke and move things he doesn't like the look of.
"I've done a bit of reading around the area" he whispers.
You skim you mind for any creatures you have heard of in the woods, you know that these woods are much less exotic than the Juelhide Jungle, and contain mainly small mammals and birds. You know that these woods do contain an unusually high population of bluejays. Another thing that comes to mind is bears, black and brown, with another type, the recently discovered owlbear, speculated to be a remanent of the Mad Sorcerer's wild magic.

Herbert: "Gold is gold. You got me interested. Let's go find this Aspherer chap."
With that he stands, strokes his mohecian and plays with the leather straps over his chest until comfortable.
((it's worth a look around I think, how big is the town @DM))))

Breibury is a reasonably large town, with about 4,000 people in it.
Herbert: as we wander about Breibury I am going to ask to borrow one of the healing potions to cast identify over. The healing potion is a common healing potion. Make a perception check looking for a shop that would seek books or scrollss.
Orin will get up and follow the group. He isn't looking for anything in particular, just mentally sizing up anyone that looks like they could fight.

"Then lets get to it! Which way do we go?" Orin says looking around, not sure which way to go.
