Arlen smiles before putting the clothing pile down on the bench in front of him. “Hmm, let’s see now”. He picks them up one by one, carefully inspecting the quality of the items to determine whether or not they would at the very least last him the length of an adventure.
Halidor is shaking at seeing so much gold mentioned in the letter, not a king's hoard, but still 10 times his life savings. He begins looking for individuals that look like they can handle an odd job or two, starting at the Rum Always Runs
You walk into the tavern right as you hear the scrapping of coins on a table as a lucky half-elf rakes in a pile of silver and copper. You see the half-orc barkeep talking to another half-orc. A few people are settled at tables alone, tankards half empty.
I put the contraption down "sadly I cannot afford this at the time but I'll be back for it" I say with a half-hearted grin. I leave the shop and make my way back to Rum Always Runs. On the walk back I think to myself "I could possibly steal it... no no he was too kind" I remember the pat he gave me on the shoulder. " I should probably find a companion or two for the job though. "
The clothes seem fit for travel and will likely last you a while. You get the sense the firbolg may have added a few silver more than their worth, but such is the way of business.

I come in behind this seemingly normal halfling with an otter pelt on their head. " 'scuse' me" I say before walking around them and heading over to Mork who seems to be conversation with another half-orc. "Mork when you got a sec some water please." I peer over my shoulder and gesture for the halfling to join me at the bar.
"Pelter, eh? Must have some skill to catch something as clever as a river otter. Say, you want to make some extra coin? I got a job that could feed a family of ten for a year, but I need help."
Having never done this before, Halidor is taking very loudly and nervously
Arlen nods appreciatively at the wares before fixing his blood red pupils on the Firbolg. “I’ll take them for one gold”, he gues tired to his travel worn and hole ridden clothing. “As you can see I’m afraid I don’t have money to just throw around, but I’m not going to offer you so little as to under-appreciate this fine workmanship. So, what do you say?”. Arlen smiles at the Firbolg, the crows feet at the corners of his eyes appearing.
"Yep, I thought that would be your reaction" - Hedrak nodded - "Mine is not much different" - he shrugged - "Would you have something to snack on? Or just the drinks?"

(Your letter will arrive momentarily)
My eyes light up "how much?!" I ask with enthusiasm. My excitement obvious. I think to myself "such a tool would be worth a lot of trouble".
HEDRAK -
The barkeep tilts his head back and laughed. "That's a good one."
ZOOK -
Tyr scratches as his beard. "30 gold even."

Tyr watches you depart with some cheerful words before you end up at the tavern, coming in behind a halfling wearing an otter skin bonnet.

(Does Slade look like he is out of earshot of Dharrus and the guard?)

My eyes flash when coin was mentioned. "Oh? What's the job?"
